We believe in empowering the next generation of innovators to solve critical global challenges and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.\nYour Responsibilities\nAs an Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer, you will work closely with senior experts to deliver digital solutions, optimize plant performance, and deploy smart control applications across global sites.\nSupport the delivery of Advanced Process Control (APC) engineering projects on time and to a high standard under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nAnalyze process and plant data to identify opportunities for process optimization and performance improvement.\n\nAssist in developing, configuring, testing, commissioning, and optimizing Advanced Process Control (APC) applications.\n\nSupport troubleshooting of process control systems and recommend performance improvements.\n\nWork closely with plant operations and site teams during commissioning, start-up, and optimization activities.\n\nAssist in developing process models and control strategies for mining processes.\n\nPrepare engineering documentation, commissioning reports, technical reports, and project records.\n\nAssist in implementing digital solutions, including Cameras, smart sensors and Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices.\n\nPerform basic system diagnostics and troubleshooting of hardware, software components.\n\nProvide post-commissioning technical support and assist in resolving customer technical issues.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and knowledge sharing within the APC team.\n\nStay up to date with emerging technologies in Advanced Process Control, Digital Twins, Industrial AI, and industrial analytics.\n\nWillingness to travel (approximately 50%) to customer sites within India and internationally.\n\nWhat You Bring\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized/premier institution:\nPreferred: Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering.\n\nAlso Considered: Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or related disciplines with a demonstrated interest or project work in industrial automation, process optimization, or process control.\n\nExperience\nFresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.\n\nExperience or internship in process automation, Advanced Process Control (APC), industrial control systems, mineral processing, or related industrial engineering is an advantage.\n\nTechnical Skills\nProcess Dynamics: Basic understanding of mineral processing operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration) and process control fundamentals (PID loops, dynamics, control loop performance).\n\nAutomation Exposure: Basic exposure to PLC, DCS, SCADA, or APC technologies and industrial automation systems.\n\nCoding/Data Tools: Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar programming/scripting languages is a plus.\n\nAdvanced Tech (Bonus): Exposure to Model Predictive Control (MPC), fuzzy logic, Digital Twins, modeling/simulation, or Industrial AI / Machine Learning is beneficial but not mandatory.\n\nPersonal Attributes\nAnalytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for process trends, plant data analysis, and key performance indicator (KPI) optimization.\n\nCommunication & Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly across global, cross-functional teams.\n\nAdaptability & Drive: High-achieving, self-motivated, and eager to rapidly absorb new knowledge in fast-paced, customer-facing industrial environments.\n\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive benefits package including Health Insurance, Personal Accident/Disability, Group Term Life Insurance, annual health check-up, and voluntary insurance options\n\nTime to recharge with 30 days PTO (with up to 10 days carry-forward as Earned Leave)\n\nWork-life balance supported by a flexible work schedule\n\nFinancial assistance for continuing education\n\nEmployee Assistance Program\n\nA global network of supportive colleagues and opportunities for growth and career development\n\nAs an equal opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
