Founded in 1882 and listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen, it provides grinding mills, high pressure grinding rolls, flotation and classification equipment, slurry pumps, cyclones, valves and sampling systems with spare parts and field services, and pursues a MissionZero goal of zero-emission mining. It hires field service engineers and technicians, boilermakers and fitters, process and commissioning specialists, OT cybersecurity engineers and finance staff in Chennai, Monterrey, Salt Lake City, Australia, Peru and Chile.

We are seeking an experienced Service Supervisor to join our Field Service team in Australia.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise and coordinate service and maintenance activities across customer sites and workshop operations. You will lead Mechanical and Screen Service teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while building strong relationships with our customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trade professional or site supervisor from the mining industry who enjoys leading people, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate planned and unplanned service and maintenance activities across customer sites and workshop operations.

  • Supervise Mechanical and Screen Service teams, ensuring safe execution, productivity and effective utilisation of resources.

  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership through Safety Leadership Tours, Toolbox Talks and active participation in safety initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with FLS and customer HSE requirements, procedures, standards and applicable legislation.

  • Ensure incidents and hazards are reported, investigated and followed through with appropriate corrective actions.

  • Plan and allocate work to Service Technicians, balancing changing priorities, customer requirements and available resources.

  • Work closely with planning teams to coordinate predictive and preventative maintenance activities, shutdown preparation, labour, parts, tools and equipment.

  • Monitor daily maintenance activities and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.

  • Review service documentation, inspection reports and condition-monitoring information before presentation to customers.

  • Promote a strong “right first time” approach and identify opportunities to improve procedures, maintenance practices and service quality.

  • Coach, develop and provide constructive feedback to team members, supporting both technical capability and professional development.

  • Build an engaged and collaborative team culture based on trust, accountability and teamwork.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide practical solutions to customer requirements.

  • Ensure all customer interactions are professional and reinforce FLS's credibility as a trusted service partner.

  • Identify customer needs and market intelligence that may create additional value and business opportunities.

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and other internal teams to identify equipment trends and develop improved maintenance strategies.

  • Provide hands-on technical support when required, including supporting other FLS supervisors and teams across customer sites.

What you bring

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related mechanical discipline.

  • Previous experience supervising a site service or maintenance team within the mining industry.

  • Demonstrated experience leading tradespeople in field service, maintenance or shutdown environments.

  • CHPP shutdown experience is highly regarded.

  • Relevant coal mine inductions and current competencies.

  • Strong understanding of mining safety requirements and safe work practices.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate resources across changing operational priorities.

  • Strong leadership, coaching and team-development capability.

  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.

  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Current Australian manual driver's licence.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

What we value

At FLS, safety is at the centre of everything we do. You will be expected to lead by example, take ownership of your team's performance and create an environment where people feel empowered to work safely, collaborate and deliver quality outcomes.

You will bring a professional and customer-focused approach, communicate effectively with people at all levels and demonstrate reliability, accountability and respect. You will also actively support continuous improvement and encourage your team to adopt better ways of working.

What we offer

This role provides the opportunity to take a key leadership position within our Field Service business, working directly with major mining customers and supporting critical equipment across its lifecycle.

You will join a global organisation with access to technical expertise, career development opportunities and a team focused on safety, customer success and continuous improvement.

Travel is required and will vary depending on customer and operational requirements.

If you are an experienced mining maintenance professional who enjoys leading teams, working closely with customers and delivering safe, high-quality field service outcomes, we would like to hear from you.

Apply now to join FLS and help us deliver sustainable productivity to the global mining industry.

We offer all employees access to a dedicated recognition platform, empowering you to celebrate achievements, share appreciation and stay connected globally.
