As our Filtration Engineering Manager, you'll lead the team designing the dewatering technology our mining customers rely on - and help shape how FLSmidth's filtration equipment performs in the field, worldwide.\nYou'll join our Filtration Engineering team, part of the wider Mining Equipment engineering organisation supporting projects globally.\nYour responsibilities\nLead the engineering team designing dewatering filtration equipment\nOwn technical specifications, calculations and equipment drawings\nDrive capital projects from design through commissioning\nPartner with process engineers to size and select filtration equipment\nResolve field performance issues through root-cause analysis\nSupport sales with technical proposals and feasibility studies\nMentor and develop engineers across the filtration team\nKey Accountabilities\nEngineering Design & Technical Ownership\nOwn the technical design and specification of dewatering filtration systems, ensuring compliance with process requirements, safety standards, and client specifications.\nReview and approve engineering calculations, P&IDs, GA drawings, and equipment datasheets for filtration equipment.\nDrive continuous improvement in filter design to optimize cake moisture, throughput, filtrate clarity, and cloth/media life.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nManage, mentor, and develop a team of filtration engineers and designers.\nSet technical direction, allocate resources across projects, and ensure engineering deliverables meet quality and schedule targets.\nBuild technical capability within the team through training, standards development, and knowledge transfer.\nProject Delivery\nAct as engineering lead on capital projects and equipment upgrades, from proposal/FEED through detailed design, procurement support, commissioning, and handover.\nCoordinate with project management, procurement, and site teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of filtration packages.\nManage engineering scope, risk, and change control throughout project lifecycles.\nPerformance Optimization\nConduct root-cause analysis on underperforming installations and lead corrective engineering actions.\nSupport pilot testing, bench-scale trials, and scale-up studies for new applications.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Engagement\nServe as the senior technical point of contact for customers on filtration engineering matters, including troubleshooting and technical audits.\nSupport sales and business development with technical proposals, feasibility studies, and equipment selection guidance.\nLiaise with OEM partners, suppliers, and site operations teams to resolve technical issues.\nStandards, Compliance & Continuous Improvement\nEnsure all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, mining industry standards, and company QA/QC procedures.\nMaintain and improve internal engineering standards, templates, and design tools specific to dewatering filtration.\nChampion safety-by-design principles across all filtration engineering work.\nAftermarket & Lifecycle Support\nOversee engineering input for spare parts, upgrades, retrofits, and performance guarantees for installed filtration equipment.\nSupport field service and reliability teams.\nWhat you bring\nDegree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering\n8+ years in filtration or solid-liquid separation engineering\nExperience leading technical teams and capital projects\nStrong knowledge of mining and mineral processing applications\nConfident communicator with customers and cross-functional teams\nAbility to travel internationally approximately 30-40 days per year\nValid passport and required travel permits\nAs an equal opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
