For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.\nJob Description:\nPosition Summary\nThe BESS Service Engineer Intern will support the Service team in the execution of operational and technical activities associated with utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role focuses on maintenance planning, OEM support coordination, spare parts management, stakeholder engagement, technical documentation, and service operations. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in utility-scale energy storage service operations while developing technical and operational knowledge within a fast-growing renewable energy industry.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the Service team in the management of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) service activities.\nAssist in scheduling preventive and reactive maintenance activities, follow up with Service Partners and OEMs, and track completion of maintenance actions.\nSupport the spare parts ordering process, including initiation of requests, tracking deliveries, and ensuring parts are delivered to the correct project site.\nCreate and submit technical support requests to OEMs under the guidance of the Service team, gather the required technical information and documentation, and follow up on open actions to ensure timely responses and resolution.\nMaintain accurate service documentation, work order records, maintenance reports, and customer-related records within Fluence systems.\nSupport tracking of site outages, maintenance activities, availability events, warranty claims, and service actions.\nAssist Service Managers and the Service team with the preparation of service reports, maintenance plans, customer updates, and operational reviews.\nPerform basic troubleshooting activities under supervision and follow established troubleshooting procedures to support issue investigation and resolution.\nDevelop a basic understanding of Battery Energy Storage System components, architecture, operating procedures, and technical documentation.\nReview and interpret basic technical documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), site layouts, operating procedures, manuals, and maintenance documentation.\nCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery activities and drive actions to closure.\nParticipate in site visits, maintenance activities, and customer meetings as part of professional development and learning.\nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with little or no prior professional experience.\nStrong interest in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems, and service operations.\nBasic understanding of electrical systems and engineering principles.\nAbility to understand and interpret basic technical documentation and drawings.\nGood written and verbal communication skills in English.\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital business tools.\nDriver's license is an advantage.\nKey Skills & Attributes\nStrong willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge in Battery Energy Storage Systems and renewable energy technologies.\nCurious, proactive, and motivated to continuously expand technical knowledge.\nDemonstrates ownership and a \"get things done\" mindset.\nResourceful and capable of finding solutions by engaging the right stakeholders and asking the right questions.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.\nPositive, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.\nStrong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nOur Culture\nAt Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energy.
