For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.\nJob Description:\nThe Project Director is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers and overseeing the successful execution of multiple complex Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the Americas.\nThis role provides strategic leadership, drives financial and operational performance, manages project risks, and builds strong customer relationships to ensure projects are delivered successfully.\nThe Project Director works closely with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives, contractual requirements, and business priorities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the strategic planning, management, and execution of multiple complex BESS projects.\nManage and provide direction to Project Managers, ensuring appropriate resource allocation, accountability, and successful project delivery.\nOversee the execution of complex Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.\nProvide leadership across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, and business operations.\nMonitor project financial performance, manage risks, and drive improvements in profitability and operational efficiency.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.\nOversee project planning, execution strategies, schedules, and resource requirements.\nEnsure project plans, milestones, changes, and deliverables are documented and communicated effectively.\nIdentify and resolve project challenges, escalations, and risks to support successful execution.\nEnsure compliance with established business processes, reporting requirements, and project execution standards.\nCollaborate with Sales to support new business opportunities and future project development.\nLead business improvement initiatives to strengthen project performance and operational effectiveness.\nPromote continuous improvement by documenting and sharing lessons learned across projects.\nTravel approximately 30% as required to support project execution, customer meetings, and site activities.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nMinimum 12 years of relevant industry experience.\nMinimum 12 years of project management experience with P&L responsibility.\nMinimum 3 years of experience managing complex EPC projects.\nDemonstrated experience leading and managing Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong understanding of project planning, execution, financial management, and risk mitigation.\nProven leadership, collaboration, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.\nStrong business acumen and ability to drive project financial and operational performance.\nExperience managing customer relationships and coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively within a global, matrixed organization.\nStrong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\nAdditional Skills and Qualifications\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.\nExperience managing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.\nExperience overseeing multiple concurrent EPC projects.\nKnowledge of project controls, resource planning, and performance reporting.\nExperience supporting business development and new project opportunities.\nExperience driving operational improvements and implementing project management best practices.\nOur Culture\nAt Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energy.
