For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.\nJob Description:\nThe Project Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for supporting renewable energy and energy storage projects from initial bidding through engineering execution and commissioning. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, schedules, and budgets. The Project Engineering Manager will partner closely with Sales, Project Management, Procurement, and Construction teams to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions while driving engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and team development.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering Leadership and Team Development\nLead, mentor, and develop engineers to strengthen technical capabilities and overall team performance.\nProvide technical guidance, training, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.\nManage engineering resources, staffing needs, and workload distribution to support project priorities.\nFoster collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the team.\nSales and Bid Support\nPartner with Sales to evaluate customer requirements, technical specifications, and project scope during the bidding phase.\nSupport the development of preliminary engineering designs, technical proposals, and cost estimates.\nParticipate in customer meetings to present technical solutions and address engineering-related questions.\nOptimize proposed designs to balance technical feasibility, cost competitiveness, and project requirements.\nProject Engineering and Execution\nOversee the transition of engineering designs from bidding through detailed design, project execution, and commissioning support.\nLead the development and review of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.\nEnsure engineering deliverables meet project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements.\nCollaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and support successful project delivery.\nConduct technical design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulations.\nQuality, Risk, and Compliance\nEnsure engineering activities comply with applicable industry standards, including IEC, IEEE, ASME, NEC, and UL, as relevant.\nIdentify technical and execution risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve engineering-related issues.\nImplement engineering quality control practices to reduce errors, rework, and project delays.\nMaintain accurate engineering documentation and support compliance and audit requirements.\nSupport project safety requirements and coordinate corrective actions when needed.\nStrategic Planning and Continuous Improvement\nSupport the Senior Manager of Engineering & Execution in implementing engineering strategies, operational priorities, and business objectives.\nProvide updates on engineering progress, resource allocation, project risks, and team performance.\nTranslate department objectives into actionable engineering plans and deliverables.\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering processes, tools, workflows, and overall execution efficiency.\nApply lessons learned and industry best practices to improve future project performance.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\nBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Energy Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n5-7 years of engineering experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or a related industry.\n2-5 years of experience leading engineering teams or overseeing large-scale engineering projects.\nExperience supporting engineering projects from conceptual design through detailed engineering, execution, and commissioning.\nHands-on experience with the design, installation, or commissioning of renewable energy or energy storage systems.\nExperience supporting technical proposals, preliminary engineering designs, and cost estimates during the bidding phase.\nProficiency with relevant engineering design tools, such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, WindPro, ETAP, or comparable software.\nKnowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards, including IEC, IEEE, ASME, NEC, and UL.\nUnderstanding of grid integration, power electronics, inverter technologies, and energy efficiency principles.\nStrong project coordination, technical problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage competing project priorities, engineering resources, and technical deliverables.\nAdditional Skills\nThe following qualifications and experience are advantageous but not required:\nExperience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related engineering or commissioning activities.\nFamiliarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.\nExperience with energy modeling and engineering simulation software.\nKnowledge of Chilean market requirements, engineering codes, and regulatory standards.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent regional certification.\nRenewable energy certifications, including NABCEP Solar PV Professional, LEED Accreditation, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).\nCertifications or specialized training related to grid-edge technologies or Battery Energy Storage Systems.\nExperience implementing engineering process improvements and technical
