If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.\nJob Description\nSummary\nPerform Process Control Specialist duties within the E&I Department at a large 24/7 manufacturing facility. This role requires strong troubleshooting capability to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Candidates must be flexible and able to respond to call-ins as needed. Pay is commensurate with experience.\nEssential Duties and Skills include the following:\nComplies with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.\nGeneral knowledge of electrical circuitry, national electrical code standards, and arc flash safety\nPLC logic and system interlock troubleshooting\nTroubleshooting skills for pneumatic and electronic instrumentation and control systems including process computers, distributive control systems, and PLCs to improve quality and operational reliability\nOn-site operational checks, point-to-point IO verifications, troubleshooting, debugging and control optimization of the process loops\nExperience installing and tuning instrumentation\nAbility to accurately document changes\nExposure to VFDs\nExperience working with low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems\nThis position requires strong troubleshooting skills\nComply with all Fluor safety requirements and programs\nDemonstrate strong troubleshooting of PLC systems, control loops, and system interlocks\nTroubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, including process computers, DCS, and PLC systems\nPerform on-site operational checks, I/O verification, loop tuning, and system optimization\nInstall, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control devices\nTroubleshoot VFDs and electrical distribution systems (low, medium, and high voltage)\nRead and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control logic diagrams\nAccurately document all work performed, including findings and corrective actions\nWork closely with operations to resolve process upsets and improve reliability\nUtilize CMMS (Maximo preferred) to document work, track issues, and support reliability improvement\nApply a structured troubleshooting approach to identify root causes rather than relying on trial-and-error part replacement\nCandidates should be comfortable working independently during off-hours and responding to emergent issues in a 24/7 operation.\nJob Requirements\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED). \nMinimum of three years’ experience (preferred) with the following: PLC Systems Process Control Instrumentation\nOther Required Skills\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability\nSafe work habits and understanding of electrical safety (LOTO, arc flash)\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nEffective communication skills (verbal and written)\nTeam-oriented mindset\nDemonstrated ability to clearly document work and communicate technical issues\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
