This requires an understanding of the business environment and the operations of the area being supported. This role provides the key linkage between the assigned area and the planning process and actively contributes to the control of the business unit.\nPerform and apply financial analysis techniques including but not limited to variance analysis, statistical analysis, scenario analysis, financial and cash flow modeling, etc., to projects and decisions as requested by management\nDevelop, establish, and continuously improve financial procedures and reporting for the assigned area\nAnalyze and document complex work processes and promote improvement (quality and efficiency) through root cause analysis and process improvement justification\nProvide functional guidance regularly to technicians and less experienced team members\nRespond to questions regarding finance and accounting issues by possessing an advanced understanding of finance and accounting activities and the transactions that form the basis of financial results\nPrepare and present financial information in appropriate format to departmental management\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Job Requirements\nAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements\nAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors\nJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job\nAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines\nAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner\nOther Job Requirements\nKeep apprised of changes in governmental, professional, and internal reporting requirements, accounting principles and standards through analysis of published materials, attendance at professional meetings and seminars, and discussions with corporate-wide financial professionals\nPreferred Qualifications\nSix (6) years of related finance or equivalent business experience\nExperience in an Engineering and Construction environment is beneficial\nDemonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills\nDemonstrated basic leadership and decision-making skills\nAbility to deliver timely and accurate information\nAbility to interact and build rapport with peers and operational management\nDemonstrated proficiency in the use of a global enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, such as SAP\nCertified expert in Excel, PowerPoint and Access; proficient in Word and other personal computer applications\nProficient in Fluor’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and other information technology systems\nCross-functional experience working on a project\nSuccessful contribution to a major transactional project, e.g., acquisition, divestiture, investment, reorganization, etc.\nFluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment.
