If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.\nJob Description\nThe Process Engineer is responsible for developing process engineering deliverables for in house projects, including Process Design Packages (PDP), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Engineering Packages (DEP), while ensuring technical integrity and compliance with SABIC Engineering Standards, licensor requirements, and applicable international standards.\nDevelop and review Process Design Basis (PDB) and Design Philosophy documents.\nDevelop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs).\nDevelop and review Heat and Material Balances (HMBs).\nPerform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent software.\nDefine operating cases, turndown conditions, start up, shutdown, and upset scenarios.\nPerform process engineering calculations including line sizing, hydraulic analysis, and equipment sizing.\nDevelop and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).\nDevelop process control philosophies, safeguarding strategies, and operating logic.\nEnsure proper implementation of control schemes, interlocks, trips, and alarms.\nLead P&ID reviews and close HAZOP actions with appropriate documentation.\nDevelop Cause and Effect Diagrams, Control Narratives, and Safeguarding Narratives.\nPrepare process datasheets for major static and rotating equipment.\nDefine process scope of supply for packaged equipment including compressors, reactors, heaters, refrigeration systems, flare systems, tankage, and utility packages.\nReview vendor, licensor, and contractor documentation for technical compliance.\nEvaluate technical bids and provide inputs to Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).\nCoordinate with Process Safety, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, and Electrical disciplines.\nProvide engineering inputs including relief and blowdown loads, line lists, process data sheets, and electrical load requirements.\nManage interfaces with licensors, technology providers, vendors, and contractors.\nParticipate in process safety, constructability, and 3D model review workshops.\nSupport project proposals, scope development, and man hour estimates for in house engineering projects.\nEnsure compliance with SABIC Engineering Standards (SES) and regulatory requirements including RCER and HCIS.\nBasic Job Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.\nMinimum ten (10) years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical process industries.\nMandatory experience in Process Design Package (PDP), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Engineering Package (DEP) execution.\nStrong knowledge of PDP and FEED workflows and project execution methodologies.\nProficiency in process engineering software including Aspen Engineering Suite, Aspen HYSYS, HTRI, AFT, and equivalent tools.\nThorough understanding of process control philosophy and safeguarding principles.\nHands on experience preparing process engineering deliverables for large scale process and utility systems.\nExperience reviewing licensor, vendor, and contractor engineering packages.\nExperience preparing and reviewing project scopes of work, Invitations to Bid (ITB), technical proposals, and man hour estimates.\nKnowledge of flare systems, pressure relief systems, hazardous area classification, and process safety concepts.\nStrong knowledge of industry codes and standards including API, ASME, ISO, and NFPA.\nKnowledge of regulatory requirements including HCIS, RCER, and related industry regulations.\nStrong technical problem solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nStrong communication and coordination skills.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and quality.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.\nOther Job Requirements\nPreferred Qualifications\nTo be Considered Candidates: Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
