If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.\nJob Description\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior HSE Engineer specializing in Fire Protection Engineering to join our engineering team in Spain.\nIn this role, you will provide technical leadership for the development and design of fire protection systems for industrial and energy projects, supporting projects from concept development through detailed engineering and execution. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Construction, and Operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nFire Protection Engineering (Must have)\nDevelop and review Fire Protection Design Basis, Fire Protection Philosophies, and Fire Protection Specifications.\nDesign and assess active fire protection systems, including fire water networks, hydrants, monitors, deluge systems, sprinklers, foam systems, and fire detection and alarm systems.\nPerform fire water demand and hydraulic calculations.\nPrepare and review fire protection P&IDs, layouts, Fire & Gas Cause & Effect documentation, and related engineering deliverables.\nSupport project estimating activities through preparation of fire protection cost estimates.\nEnsure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.\nProcess Safety Support (Nice to have)\nContribute to process safety studies and risk assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, as required.\nSupport the development of risk mitigation measures and process safety deliverables.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary safety reviews throughout the project lifecycle.\nCompliance & Stakeholder Engagement (Nice to have)\nSupport regulatory compliance and permitting activities.\nInterface with clients, regulatory authorities, and third-party stakeholders.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams.\nJob Requirements\nMust Have\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nMinimum 7 years of experience in fire protection engineering for industrial and/or energy projects.\nDemonstrated experience in:Active Fire Protection Systems.\nFire Protection Design Basis and Fire Protection Philosophies.\nFire Protection Specifications.\nFire Water Demand Calculations and Fire Water Networks.\nDeluge System and Fire Protection P&IDs.\nFire Protection Layouts.\nFire & Gas Cause & Effect documentation.\nFire Protection Cost Estimates.\n\nFluent English and Spanish (written and spoken).\nWillingness to relocate to Tarragona, Spain\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL studies.\nExperience with qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.\nKnowledge of environmental safety and regulatory compliance requirements.\nPrevious experience working for or with Repsol, Moeve, BP, or other major energy operators.\nTechnical Knowledge\nWorking knowledge of industry-recognized codes and standards, including:\nNFPA Codes and Standards\nATEX Directives\nRIPCI\nRSCIEI\nCTE\nIEC Standards and relevant industrial safety regulations\nExperience with fire protection and process safety software such as PIPENET, PHAST, AutoSPRINK, FDS, HASS/HAAS, or equivalent tools is considered an advantage.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nStrong technical expertise in fire protection engineering within industrial facilities.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nStrong communication and technical report-writing skills.\nAbility to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international project teams.\nProactive mindset with ownership of engineering deliverables and project outcomes.\nTo be Considered Candidates: Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
