In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and regulatory compliance, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\n1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation\nAlways ensure the accuracy of financial information on the ERP (NetSuite), with robust reconciliations and controls.\nMaintain complete schedules (e.g. fixed assets, prepayments, others etc.) and audit trails for all journal entries (JEs) posted in NetSuite.\nLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across subsidiaries in multiple countries.\nPrepare and review consolidated financial statements under IFRS, ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders.\nEnsure compliance with local statutory reporting requirements (e.g. CBN, FRCN, SASRA, Bank of Ghana, FSCA).\nImplement and maintain robust chart of accounts and consolidation systems for multi-entity reporting.\nReview trial balances, intercompany eliminations, and foreign currency translations.\n2. External Audit & Compliance\nCoordinate interim and annual audits for Group and subsidiaries; manage timelines, deliverables, and audit queries.\nLiaise with external auditors in relevant jurisdictions and ensure timely sign-off of audited financial statements.\nSupport regulatory filings and board submissions (CBN, SEC, FRC, Tax Authorities).\nEnsure adherence to internal control frameworks and SOX-type standards where applicable, working closely with the ICFR team to strengthen internal controls.\n3. Accounting Policy & Standards\nDevelop, update, and enforce Group Accounting Policies in line with IFRS, local GAAPs, and company policies.\nLead implementation of new accounting standards (e.g. IFRS 9, 15, 16, 17, 18).\nProvide technical accounting guidance to subsidiaries and cross-functional teams.\n4. Systems & Process Improvement\nDrive automation and standardization of financial reporting processes.\nDrive process improvements in financial reporting, reconciliation, and close processes, ensuring efficiency and reduced risk.\nPartner with IT and FP&A teams to enhance ERP and reporting tools (e.g. NetSuite, Oracle, Power BI).\nImplement controls over journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close cycles.\n5. Treasury, Tax, and FP&A Collaboration\nWork closely with Treasury on FX translation and hedging disclosures.\nCollaborate with Tax on deferred tax accounting and compliance.\nSupport FP&A on variance analysis, management reporting, and performance dashboards.\n6. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement\nLead and mentor financial reporting team across entities.\nAct as key liaison for board, investors, and rating agencies during reporting cycles.\nSupport CFO in board presentations, investor reports, and fund-raising due diligence.\nKey Deliverables\nTimely and accurate monthly management accounts and quarterly consolidated reports.\nAudited financial statements signed off within agreed timelines.\nUpdated group accounting policies and IFRS compliance checklist.\nImproved financial close cycle (target ≤ 5 working days).\nAutomation of reporting dashboards and variance analyses.\nRequired competency and skillset to be a Waver:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.\nProfessional qualification: ACA / ACCA / CPA (required).\n10-12 years of experience in financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.\nExperience in payments, fintech, banking, or financial services industry.\nDeep knowledge of IFRS and multi-jurisdictional consolidation.\nPrior exposure to audit firms (Big 4 experience is an advantage).\nProficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).\nStrong technical accounting and analytical skills.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication.\nAbility to work across multiple geographies and currencies.\nHigh attention
