This is a paid internship starting Monday, May 17 through Friday, August 6, working up to 40 hours per week for the summer, with the potential to turn into a full-time, permanent position in the future.\nWe are looking for currently-enrolled college students who are close to the West Des Moines area, as this is not a remote internship.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nEducation: Must be a currently-enrolled sophomore, junior or senior at an undergraduate college or university, majoring in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS or related technical field (May 2027 graduates will not be eligible). \nSkills: Exposure to SQL or PL/SQL a plus. Exposure to data structures or database management is a plus.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nFollows all established principles, standards, and processes that guide data decisions for the enterprise.\nImplements data model changes as needed to support user and application requirements, generates database definition language scripts, and implements database changes using the provided toolset with a focus on data integrity, efficiency, and quality.\nProduces and runs data scripts to load data, correct data issues, and extracts data as directed.\nCommunicates with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Lead Developers, and the business community as needed to clarify requirements, report work progress, and resolve issues.\nAccomplishes other tasks and duties as assigned.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nOffice environment with individual workspace provided.\nCasual dress.\nOn-site fitness center and cafeteria.\nEmployee appreciation events.\nOpportunity to participate in company-wide activities.\nThis position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization by Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company, SI.
