For more information, visit us at or follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.\nPosition Summary\nThe Machine Operator I performs operator level maintenance and operates a variety of conventional and/or basic Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine by drilling, tapping, milling, shaping, and forming in the manufacturing of FN America components and products.\nJob Duties\nWorks from print drawings, instructions, and process documents, in the operation of assembly, conventional machines or CNC to run production components to the required specifications.\nCompletes a variety of milling, drilling, grinding, riveting, and turning on conventional machines or related operations to close and interrelated tolerances.\nReviews Operational Control Sheets (OCS) and specifications to determine machining sequence, tooling requirements/changes, and dimensions of finished workpiece.\nExecutes tool changes on simple operations such as drilling and reaming operations (i.e. sanding belts and grinding wheels).\nPerforms a variety of inspection and gaging operations to ensure part quality to the documented requirements.\nEstablishes and maintains a safe, clean, and healthful working environment in accordance with OHSA requirements and company standards, to include proper use of machining best practices, proper housekeeping, machine safeguarding, and personal protective equipment.\nRecords necessary data and production values per the process requirements.\nAssists with the implementation of lean principles and methods, engages in activities that create a continuous improvement environment, sustains lean processes, suggests areas of improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and actively supports lean, 5S, and value stream management initiatives.\nCompletes preventative maintenance as required.\nOther duties as assigned.\nEducation Requirements\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.\nExperience Requirements\nNone\nSkills and Competencies\nAll FN America employees are expected to demonstrate accountability, collaboration, effective communication, customer focus, and innovation. Additional requirements of this position include:\nBasic math skills using whole numbers and decimals in imperial and metric. \nVerbal and written communication skills. \nAbility to follow policies and procedures.\nAbility to meet productivity standards, observe safety and security procedures, and adapt to changes in the work environment.\nKnowledge of or ability to learn metal cutting machines (manual and CNC), tools, and inspection methods.\nStrong attention to detail.\nFine motor, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.\nLicenses/Certifications\nNone\nWorking Conditions\nTypical manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises and dangerous chemicals and machinery.
