This role requires a seasoned professional with deep technical skills, strong architectural thinking, and experience in managing complex, secure data transfer ecosystems across global environments. The ideal candidate will be the technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) responsible for setting standards, leading initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing file transfer solutions across the enterprise and with external partners.About This Role:\nLearn and help support Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms.\nLead the architecture, design, and scaling of Axway SecureTransport environments across production, non-production, and DR zones.\nCollaborate with enterprise architects and security teams to ensure MFT solutions align with broader IT strategy and compliance mandates.\nServe as a technical lead on MFT-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new partner onboarding.\nManage and optimize Axway SecureTransport and related components (Gateway, Sentinel, etc.) for performance, availability, and resiliency.\nDevelop and maintain complex MFT workflows, leveraging SecureTransport features (Policies, Users, Event Rules, etc.) and custom scripting.\nAutomate operational tasks using scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell) to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.\nImplement and manage end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and reporting of MFT transactions using Dynatrace.\nConduct capacity planning and performance tuning to support growing transaction volumes and evolving business needs.\nImplement robust data protection protocols (TLS, PGP, SSH, SFTP, FTPS) in alignment with corporate and regulatory security requirements.\nDrive security reviews, access controls, logging, and audit readiness to support frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.\nAct as liaison with InfoSec teams to ensure ongoing compliance, threat mitigation, and vulnerability remediation.\nProvide technical mentorship and training to junior engineers and support staff.\nLead troubleshooting efforts on high-impact or escalated issues, acting as the final point of resolution.\nWork closely with cross-functional teams (networking, security, application development, DevOps) to integrate MFT with enterprise systems and cloud platforms.\nThe Ideal Candidate for This Role:\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.\n5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise Managed File Transfer solutions.\nDeep understanding of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2), encryption methods, and certificate management.\nProficient in Linux/Unix system administration and comfortable navigating large, complex environments.\nStrong understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, DNS, and VPN technologies.\nExperience with cloud-based MFT integration (AWS, Azure) or hybrid environments is a strong plus.\nProven track record of working in regulated industries with strict compliance and audit requirements.\nExcellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.\nExperience working with third-party vendors.\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.\nPreferred Skills and Certifications:\nAxway SecureTransport or B2Bi certifications (Administrator, Specialist).\n5+ years of experience specifically working with Axway SecureTransport in a senior or lead capacity.\nExperience with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct\nExperience with Axway Gateway, Sentinel, or B2Bi platforms.\nFamiliarity with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integration of MFT workflows.\nExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) in MFT deployments.\nExperience with infrastructure and application monitoring concepts\nExperience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.\nPhysical Demands:\nSedentary work environment - Primarily sitting at a desk for extended periods \nComputer use - Prolonged screen time and keyboard/mouse operation \nVisual focus - Extended periods viewing monitors/displays \nManual dexterity - Ability to use keyboard, mouse, and other input devices \nOccasional standing/walking - Moving between meetings or work areas \nCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.\nCompensation:\nCompensation range (base pay): $89,828.00-$148,215.00This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.\nFinal compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.\nWork Environment:\nIt is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
