This is a hands-on technical role focused on operating and improving FNZ’s production cyber security platforms.\nThe successful candidate will help ensure FNZ’s security platforms remain reliable, well-configured, and continuously improving through engineering, automation, and operational excellence.\nThis role sits within Cyber Platform Engineering, not the Security Operations Centre (SOC). The focus is on engineering and operating security platforms, rather than monitoring alerts or performing SOC analysis.\nYou will work closely with global engineering teams across the UK, US, and APAC.\nCore Responsibilities\nOperate, maintain, and continuously improve FNZ’s production security platforms to ensure reliability, performance, and operational effectiveness.\nThe role combines hands-on platform operation with engineering improvements that enhance platform capability and reduce operational overhead.\nResponsibilities include:\nConfiguring, operating, and optimising enterprise security platforms\n\nSupporting platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management\n\nMonitoring platform health, reliability, and performance\n\nTroubleshooting operational issues across security platforms\n\nEnsuring platforms operate in line with FNZ’s global security and operational standards\n\nAssisting with automation of platform configuration and operational workflows\n\nSupporting integrations between security platforms and internal systems\n\nWriting scripts or tooling to improve operational efficiency\n\nSupporting infrastructure automation or configuration improvements\n\nHelping improve telemetry pipelines and data flows between security platforms\n\nEngineers are expected to approach platform operations with an engineering mindset, identifying opportunities to improve automation, reliability, and operational efficiency over time\nIncident Engineering Support\nProvide engineering support during security incidents where platform expertise is required.\nThis includes:\nSupporting incident response teams with platform troubleshooting\n\nAssisting with root-cause analysis\n\nHelping implement fixes and improvements following incidents\n\nThe focus is platform engineering support, not incident monitoring or SOC investigation.\nPlatform Reliability & Continuous Improvement\nWork with the wider engineering team to improve the maturity and reliability of FNZ’s security platform environment.\nThis includes:\nIdentifying recurring operational issues\n\nContributing to automation initiatives\n\nImproving platform observability and operational metrics\n\nSupporting adoption of new security tools and platform capabilities\n\nWorking Pattern\nThe team provides global coverage across shifts aligned with international operations.\nCore hours will align with APAC and EMEA collaboration, with occasional out-of-hours work required during major incidents or platform maintenance windows.\nRequired Experience\nCandidates should demonstrate hands-on experience operating enterprise security platforms.\nTypical background includes:\n3-6 years in cyber security engineering or platform engineering roles\n\nHands-on experience working with enterprise security platforms\n\nExperience troubleshooting operational issues across security controls\n\nExperience working within distributed global engineering teams\n\nTechnical Experience\nExperience across several of the following security platform domains is expected:\nEndpoint security platforms (EDR / XDR) such as CrowdStrike, Defender, SentinelOne\n\nSecure Web Gateway / Proxy platforms such as Netskope, Zscaler, iBoss, Prisma Access\n\nWeb Application Firewalls (WAF) and application-layer protection platforms\n\nSecurity logging and SIEM platforms\n\nEmail security platforms and secure email gateways\n\nVulnerability management platforms\n\nNetwork security controls, including next-generation firewalls\n\nCandidates should demonstrate experience operating, configuring, and supporting these platforms in production environments.\nEngineering & Automation Experience\nExperience in the following areas is beneficial:\nscripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar)\n\nworking with APIs for platform integrations\n\ninfrastructure automation or configuration management\n\noperating security tooling in cloud environments\n\nNice to Have\nExperience in the following areas would be beneficial:\ninfrastructure-as-code or DevOps practices\n\ncloud security platform engineering\n\nintegrating
