Performs work involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Evaluates, diagnoses, and troubleshoots assigned buildings, systems, and equipment. You will also be responsible for identifying the materials and equipment needed to accomplish the work and maintaining a record of such expenditures on assignments.\nThe Facilities Technician maintains and repairs all facilities in the client's buildings and serves as the primary contact for emergency situations. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assess and consider daily\n1) the safety of their employees,\n2) the security of their assets, and\n3) the service to their members.\nThis position will coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.\nWork Location: Mountain View, CA\nDuration: 6-month contract; On-site role\nPay Range: $30/hr to $35/hr\nRole & Responsibilities:\nWill assist the primary contact for all regional personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)\nMay assist the project coordinator for all sizes of projects, including large-scale repair and new facility projects\nAssists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis (on call)\nMonitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed\nPerforms minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices as required\nPerforms minor repairs and/or replacement of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances as required\nPerforms basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required\nHang pictures and shelving, as needed\nDismantles and installs furniture\nEscorts service contractors to the necessary locations for equipment service\nCoordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves\nMoves furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment\nTransports goods or equipment as assigned\nPerforms immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain a clean facility\nPerforms other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager\nPerforms all other duties as assigned, which may include assisting others\nIdentifies standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in multiple building maintenance crafts\nLeads in the installation, maintenance, and repair of designated building systems\nMaintains the record of materials and labor expended on each assignment\nOffers assistance to or guides other technicians assisting in assignments\nPerforms other duties as requested\nObserve and report, through the work order system, any and all defects, deterioration, and wear and tear on the facilities\nCommunication, as directed, with key administrative and staff personnel on special events and functions scheduled for the buildings that may require special furnishing arrangements and other duties that may be required\nAssist as required and cooperate with all personnel in the performance of day-to-day duties and responsibilities\nSome travel to San Francisco and Palo Alto work sites may be required\nExperience & Qualifications:\n HVAC (5+ Years of Experience) or Electrical (5+ Years of Experience) or General Facilities Management (10+ Years of Experience)\n Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required\nOSHA 10 training certification preferred\nFormal education in HVAC or Electrical is preferred\nSelf-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or independent environment\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment\nLimited supervision and the exercise of discretion\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by contract employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
