Crews may transition to other projects within the region as work is completed.\nWork arrangement: On-site - travelling\nEmployment type: Full-time, temporary\nSchedule: Monday to Friday, with frequent overtime and weekend work as project requirements dictate.\nTravel: Regional travel is a regular part of the role. Employees are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodations.\nTravel support: $150 per diem daily.\n Anticipated project duration: 6-7 months \nThe Opportunity\nThe Line Technician supports the construction, maintenance, repair, and removal of overhead and underground power systems. Working under the direction of a Foreman or Construction Manager, you will contribute to the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of high- and low-voltage transmission and distribution systems.\nThis is a hands-on opportunity for an Apprentice Lineman Technician or experienced utility construction professional looking to build trade skills and progress toward Lineman certification. You will work as part of a field crew, gaining practical experience across transmission and distribution projects while developing your ability to interpret construction drawings, troubleshoot electrical systems, and work safely in varying conditions.\nKey Elements of the Role\nAssist with the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.\nInstall and maintain power lines, cables, electrical equipment, and related components, including assisting with underground cable work in trenches and other work areas.\nInspect electrical systems and components, identify defects or damage, and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.\nFollow company Occupational Health and Safety requirements, project procedures, and safe work practices, identifying hazards and applying appropriate controls before and during work.\nDevelop the ability to interpret and follow site plans, construction drawings, and work instructions.\nWork with Foremen, Construction Managers, and crew members to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently, communicating work progress, hazards, and field conditions.\nParticipate in training and complete required documentation while working toward Lineman certification.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nMinimum six months of experience as an Apprentice Lineman Technician or in a related role within the electrical utility, transmission, distribution, or powerline construction industry.\nAbility to safely perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and manual labour in varying weather and jobsite conditions.\nAbility to accurately distinguish color-coded electrical conductors and components.\nStrong awareness of electrical construction hazards and the ability to follow established safety procedures and controls.\nStrong listening, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to take direction, work effectively with a field crew, and work independently with minimal supervision when required.\nA valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract.\nExperience working on overhead or underground transmission and distribution systems is preferred. Relevant lineman, electrical, or utility construction training is an asset.\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role.
