This is an entry-level supervisory role for an experienced tradesperson ready to take the next step into leadership, with responsibility for crew coordination, productivity, safety, and quality execution.\nWorking closely with the General Foreman or Superintendent, you will help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. This is an opportunity to develop your field leadership skills and progress toward Senior Foreman or General Foreman roles.\nKey Elements of the Role\nLead and coordinate a field crew of approximately 6-10 workers, ensuring daily tasks are understood and completed safely and efficiently.\nCoordinate tools, materials, equipment, and work assignments to support daily productivity and maintain workflow.\nConduct daily tailboard talks and field-level hazard assessments, enforce PPE requirements and safe work practices, and support incident reporting and corrective actions.\nEnsure work meets project specifications, construction drawings, and client requirements; identify quality issues and coordinate timely resolution.\nTrack crew hours, material usage, equipment, and task progress, submitting accurate daily reports to the General Foreman or Superintendent.\nCoordinate with other field leaders to align work activities, communicate field issues, and address delays or inefficiencies.\nSupport new and junior crew members with task instructions, onboarding, and integration into site operations.\nMaintain equipment care, material handling practices, and required quality documentation, including installation checklists, material verification, and site photos.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n 3-5 years of hands-on experience in underground utility construction or related construction trade work.\n Demonstrated competency in underground utility construction, with the ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.\nBasic crew leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to direct daily field activities.\nWorking knowledge of construction site safety protocols, hazard assessments, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.\nAbility to complete daily reports, timesheets, material tracking, equipment logs, and digital field documentation.\nAbility to communicate instructions clearly, coordinate with field supervision, and work effectively with crew members and other site teams.\nValid driver’s licence.\nAbility to work at active construction sites, including remote locations where required.\nFormal supervisory training and safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, and First Aid.\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role.
