The Construction Manager oversees multiple concurrent projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Company standards, Client requirements, schedule, budget, and regulatory obligations.\nThis role provides leadership to Superintendents, General Forepersons, Forepersons, and field crews while driving operational excellence, workforce planning, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement across distribution operations.\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nConstruction Operations & Field Leadership\nProvide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to field supervision, crews, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of distribution construction activities.\nSupport the planning, coordination, and execution of overhead and underground distribution projects, including new construction, upgrades, maintenance, rebuilds, and restoration activities.\nConduct regular field visits, safety observations, and quality reviews to ensure work is completed in accordance with Company, Client, and regulatory requirements.\nReview construction drawings, specifications, work plans, and schedules to support effective project execution.\nProvide technical guidance and assist with troubleshooting construction challenges and implementing effective solutions.\nCollaborate with Work Methods Specialists, Project Managers, and field supervision to develop safe and efficient construction approaches.\nEnsure equipment, materials, and resources are effectively managed to support productivity and cost control.\nSupport mobilization and demobilization of crews, equipment, and subcontractors based on project requirements.\nSafety, Quality & Compliance\nChampion a strong safety culture by ensuring safe work practices, procedures, and expectations are understood and followed.\nEnsure field teams complete required documentation, inspections, and quality checks in accordance with project requirements.\nVerify tools, equipment, materials, permits, and training requirements are in place prior to work execution.\nSupport the investigation, reporting, and resolution of safety concerns, quality issues, and deficiencies.\nEnsure construction activities comply with project quality plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), technical specifications, and client standards.\nProject Execution & Stakeholder Management\nWork collaboratively with Project Managers and Operations leadership to support project schedules, budgets, and performance objectives.\nAssist with workforce forecasting and resource planning to ensure the right personnel and skill sets are available for project requirements.\nManage and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.\nSupport the resolution of RFIs, NCRs, change management items, and project-related issues.\nParticipate in client meetings, project reviews, and construction planning discussions as required.\nTraining & Continuous Improvement\nMentor and develop field leadership teams while supporting employee growth and technical development.\nIdentify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, and construction processes.\nCollaborate with Operations Management and Shared Services teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport the development of safe work procedures, construction methods, and best practices.\nESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS\nEducation & Experience\nJourneyman Powerline Technician certification or equivalent required.\n10+ years of progressive experience within the utility distribution construction industry or a related construction environment.\nPrevious experience leading field crews, supervisors, or construction teams.\nExperience with overhead and underground electrical distribution projects is strongly preferred.\nValid and current driver's licence.\nSkills & Abilities\nStrong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.\nStrong understanding of distribution construction practices and field operations.\nAbility to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.\nFamiliarity with Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat, or similar construction markup tools.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nWillingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as required.\nAdditional Details \nThis position requires candidates to:\nSuccessfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.\nMaintain a valid driver's licence and provide an acceptable driver's abstract.\nTravel regularly to project sites and office locations.\nSupport emergency response and restoration activities when required.\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.\nThis range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.\nBase Pay Range\n$70—$70 USD\nForbes Bros.
