You’ll spend time in the field inspecting work activities, advising crews, documenting conditions, and helping address environmental risks.\nEntry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, notices details, and wants to build practical experience in environmental compliance while working closely with construction teams.\nWhat You’ll Do\nInspect field activities: Conduct environmental inspections and monitor construction work against project plans, permits, approvals, and other requirements.\n\nGuide crews and supervisors: Communicate site restrictions, approved work areas, and mitigation measures, providing practical guidance to crews and subcontractors.\n\nMonitor environmental controls: Verify and document measures for erosion and sediment control, spill prevention, wildlife and vegetation protection, access, watercourses, and reclamation.\n\nIdentify and address issues: Document and promptly report environmental risks and deficiencies, then help track corrective actions through to completion under the environmental manager’s direction.\n\nSupport planning and incident response: Help update environmental plans and procedures, and lead or support incident investigations as directed, including reporting and follow-up.\n\nMaintain clear records: Prepare inspection reports, field photographs, and other documentation to support environmental reporting, reclamation, and project closeout.\n\nWork with project teams: Participate in orientations, training, job briefings, and planning meetings, and communicate field observations to environmental leadership, construction teams, and client representatives.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nA diploma or degree in environmental science, environmental studies, biology, ecology, agrology, natural resources management, or a related field.\n\nA basic understanding of environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and common environmental controls used in construction.\n\nThe ability to observe field conditions, identify potential issues, and communicate findings clearly and promptly.\n\nStrong organization, documentation, and written and verbal communication skills.\n\nThe ability to work independently while following project direction and building effective relationships with crews, supervisors, and other stakeholders.\n\nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn project and company systems.\n\nExperience in environmental fieldwork, linear infrastructure, or civil construction is an asset. Relevant coursework or knowledge in erosion and sediment control, spill prevention, wildlife protection, vegetation management, watercourses, or reclamation is also an asset.\nWork Environment & Schedule\nWork environment: Field-based work on active construction sites, with varying terrain, site conditions, and weather.\n\nRotation: Four weeks on, followed by one week off.\n\nSchedule: Six days per week, working ten-hour days during the scheduled rotation.\n\nTravel: Willingness and ability to travel to project locations and work away from home during scheduled rotations.\n\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.\nThis range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.\nBase Pay Range\n$38—$44 USD\nForbes Bros.
