Frequent overtime and weekend work may be required to accommodate project schedules.\nTravel: Travel to project sites throughout Ontario is required.\n Travel support: Eligible for a $200 per day living-out allowance (LOA), where applicable while working away from home.\nThe Opportunity\nWorking under the direction of a Foreman or Lead Hand, the Equipment Operator supports construction activities through the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment. You will follow site plans, complete daily equipment checks, and maintain equipment in accordance with operating requirements, company policies, and site procedures.\nThis opportunity suits an experienced operator who values reliable equipment operation and working closely with a construction crew. You will work with a range of heavy equipment on major infrastructure projects across Ontario, with opportunities for growth in an organization that places a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.\nKey Elements of the Role\nOperate heavy equipment as assigned, including loaders, dozers, telehandlers, graders, excavators, Lodrils, and vibratory hammers.\nFollow site plans, equipment operating manuals, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, applicable construction regulations, company policies, and site procedures.\nPerform daily pre-use and post-use safety and maintenance checks, keeping safety and quality central to each task.\nWork closely with the construction team to understand assigned tasks, coordinate equipment activities, and provide feedback on field requirements.\nComplete routine cleaning, greasing, and maintenance, and advise the Fleet Foreman of maintenance or repair requirements.\nMaintain complete and current equipment inspection, maintenance, and daily check documentation.\nEnsure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nEquipment operator training or certification appropriate to the equipment being operated.\nThree to five years of experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid steers, and crawler tractors.\nAbility to read and follow site plans and work effectively with a construction crew while maintaining a strong safety focus.\nStrong understanding of equipment operating manuals, inspections, and preventative maintenance requirements.\nExperience operating telehandlers, graders, dozers, Lodrils, vibratory hammers, and other heavy equipment is an asset.\nExperience on powerline, utility, transmission, civil construction, or related infrastructure projects is an asset.\nAn Ontario Class G driver’s licence or Class AZ licence with a Z (air brake) endorsement is an asset.\nApplicable crane operator certification or licensing, or lifting equipment training, is an asset.\nEqual Opportunity & Recruitment\nForbes Bros.
