This role is accountable for implementing and enforcing best practices, policies, and procedures related to equipment and vehicle management, while upholding and promoting Forbes’ strong commitment to safety. The Regional Fleet Lead will also monitor fleet utilization within their entity or region, oversee and coordinate repairs and maintenance of company assets, and ensure operational efficiency and reliability across all fleet-related activities.\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES \nCollaborate with Operations and other departments to ensure equipment requirements are consistently met, while aligning fleet and personnel resources with project schedules and operational needs.\nMonitor fleet utilization and maintain accurate, up-to-date equipment inventories.\nLead the maintenance team in performing timely repairs and preventative servicing to minimize downtime; review major repairs with the Fleet Director to assess cost-effectiveness based on vehicle history, age, utilization, and mileage.\nAudit daily pre-trip inspections to ensure organizational compliance and safety standards are achieved.\nAnalyze vehicle condition and performance data, providing recommendations for timely replacements or upgrades to enhance cost-efficiency and operational reliability.\nEnsure all shops and yards comply with OHSA/OH&S standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment.\nMaintain familiarity with and ensure adherence to FMCSA/DOT regulations.\nSupport Operations by coordinating logistics and managing costs associated with moving vehicles and equipment between project sites and yards as required.\nOversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements; source equipment and parts from new vendors when necessary and regularly review vendor pricing and suitability to ensure competitiveness and value.\nOversee the regional Tool Lead/Tool Coordinator, ensuring all inspections, tracking, and inventory processes remain accurate and compliant.\nUphold all Forbes Bros. policies, procedures, and core values in daily operations.\nPerform additional duties outside of regular responsibilities as required to support organizational goals.\nVehicle documentation is correct for each jurisdiction\nFleet meets all regulatory requirements\nAll documentation is in place before vehicle or equipment is issued\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\nMinimum of 5 year's experience in vehicle fleet management or related field\nMinimum of 3 year's experience in supervision\nDemonstrated knowledge of emerging fleet management technologies and best practices\nDemonstrated experience in leading a maintenance team and schedule\nGood knowledge of Federal and Provincial/State regulations\nMust possess good written and oral communication in person and telephone\nGood knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel\nStrong interpersonal and organizational skills\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.\nThis range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.\nBase Pay Range\n$50—$55 CAD\nForbes Bros.
