They may clean and prepare sites, dig and back-fill trenches, pull and place underground and overhead cables, clean up rubble and debris, and remove potentially hazardous waste materials. Labourers will position, join, align, and secure structural components, organize and install bolts on tower structures, and assist other craft and crew members as directed. The role may also involve operating small equipment and hand tools, spotting for vehicles and equipment, and supporting site setup and cleanup. This position requires a commitment to travel to various projects as required.\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nField Safety Leadership & Compliance\nAdhering to Forbes Bros Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations\nEmulating Forbes Bros' core value of “WE WORK SAFE” in all daily tasks\nMaintaining order and organization in assembly yards and construction sites\nOrganizing and sorting bolts\nAttaching bolts to tower structures and threading nuts to bolts\nDigging and back-filling trenches\nPulling and placing underground and overhead cables\nCarrying and moving tower components, materials, and equipment as required\nOperating small equipment and hand tools\nSpotting for vehicles and equipment\nRemoving trash, rubble, debris, and potentially dangerous materials from construction sites\nFollowing instructions and adhering to safe work practices\nRecognizing safety hazards and contributing to the implementation of appropriate controls\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nAssisting craft and crew members with work as directed\nWorking effectively with team members to complete work safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines\nDeveloping skills through varied and challenging tasks\nWorking safely and contributing to safety improvement initiatives\nPerforming additional tasks and duties as assigned\nESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School Diploma\nGeneral knowledge of the principles involved in construction operations, maintenance methods, and procedures\nSkills & Abilities\nWork safely and ability to recognize safety hazards and implement the hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards on site\nStrong listening, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to meet various deadlines\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally\nAbility to work independently or within a team environment with minimal supervision\nStrong ability to follow instructions and safely perform assigned tasks\nAble and willing to travel and work frequent overtime and weekend hours to accommodate project schedules and/or business needs\nPhysically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, including heavy lifting\nValid driver's license with a clean/acceptable driver's abstract; Class 1A license highly preferred\nAdditional Details \nThis position requires candidates to:\nSuccessfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as per site/project requirements\nTravel to various site(s) projects as per project or business needs\nThe range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.\nThis range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.\nBase Pay Range\n$25.50—$25.50 CAD\nForbes Bros.
