Our Commitment to our Customers. By living through our Values, we exceed our customer's high standards and deliver results beyond their expectations. Through an establishment of trust and earning a reputation for excellence, we develop rewarding, long-term relationships with our customers.

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies delivers transmission, distribution, substation, and related power infrastructure projects across Canada and the United States.

Our work spans field construction, project delivery, operations, and corporate support in an environment where safety, execution, and reliability matter.

The Opportunity

Lead field quality activities on the R-Project, initially based in Stapleton, Nebraska, from construction planning through project closeout.

The Project Field Quality Control Manager works closely with Project Managers and Senior Construction Managers to implement quality programs, verify construction quality, and resolve issues in the field. You’ll oversee inspections, subcontractor and supplier compliance, and the records needed to demonstrate that work meets project requirements.

We welcome local candidates and applicants from other cities who are willing to travel to Nebraska for a three-weeks-on, one-week-off rotation. This is a site-based role suited to an experienced construction quality professional who combines technical knowledge with practical field judgment.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement project quality programs: Support the development of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, procedures, and forms, and ensure field teams understand and follow them.

  • Verify construction quality: Inspect concrete and civil works, stringing, excavation, and structure setting against applicable standards and project requirements. Coordinate inspections with client representatives and other personnel.

  • Monitor contractor and supplier compliance: Conduct audits, site visits, and quality reviews to verify that project requirements are consistently met.

  • Resolve non-conformances: Manage quality issues through corrective action and closeout, support root-cause investigations, and verify that corrective and preventive measures are effective.

  • Maintain reliable quality records: Review, analyze, sign off, and maintain inspection reports, logs, test results, certificates, and supporting records for completeness and traceability.

  • Support project closeout: Assist with as-built documentation and coordinate the timely completion of quality records and closeout requirements.

  • Improve field practices: Work with construction teams to prevent recurring issues, promote quality awareness, and contribute practical improvements through lessons-learned reviews.

What You’ll Bring

  • Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification or an equivalent trade credential, or a combination of related field experience and post-secondary education.

  • Seven to ten years of quality management experience in transmission powerline construction, utilities, or civil construction.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector on large-scale projects.

  • Substantial experience managing teams of three or more Quality Coordinators or Quality Inspectors.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain quality requirements clearly to field personnel, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • The ability to coach and mentor others in quality requirements and practices.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet inspection, documentation, and closeout deadlines.

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to project teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • A valid Class D driver’s license.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Primary location: Stapleton, Nebraska, supporting the R-Project.

  • Project work areas: The R-Project extends from near Sutherland through the Stapleton and Thedford areas and east into Holt County, Nebraska. Assignments may move between project locations as construction progresses.

  • Rotation: Three weeks on, followed by one week off.

  • Schedule: Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required by construction activities and project schedules.

  • Per diem: $200 USD per day, depending on assignment location.

  • Travel: Travel to Nebraska and time away from home are required during scheduled rotations. Per diem supports expenses while working away.

  • Anticipated project duration: Approximately three years, with individual assignments dependent on project requirements.

The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.

This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.

Base Pay Range

$50—$56 USD
