The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.\nKey Responsibilities\nTest Execution & Equipment Verification:Perform and document tests on high-performance vehicles and components.\nConfirm that test equipment and sensors are accurately calibrated and function as intended.\nOperate and monitor our primary test equipment, including a wind tunnel and a 7-post vehicle dynamics rig.\n\nTroubleshooting & Maintenance:Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic and electronic test equipment.\nConduct regular preventive maintenance and calibration of test systems.\nUtilize diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering equipment.\n\n Data Management & Documentation:Record test results, maintenance activities, and calibration logs using Windows-based applications (especially Microsoft Excel).\nBe able to read and comprehend technical documentation, including wiring schematics and technical drawings.\n\nEquipment & Software Operation:Operate computer-controlled testing equipment.\nUse software tools like MATLAB for data analysis and process optimization.\nLearn and operate proprietary data acquisition software to run engineer-specific testing requirements.\n\n Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established laboratory and automotive safety procedures.\n\nTeam Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with engineering to share insights and improve testing processes and outcomes.\nUnderstand and fully explain any test exceptions to engineers and technical support personnel.\n\nAttention to Detail & Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to initiatives that enhance test efficiency and data accuracy.\n\nAdditional Technical Competencies:Quickly adapt to new testing tools and methodologies, ensuring smooth integration into existing testing protocols.\n\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement:Work closely with team members to streamline testing procedures and improve equipment reliability.\nProvide feedback on test processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation & Experience:Technical diploma or equivalent preferred.\nEntry-level to mid-level experience in a technical testing or automotive environment.\n\n Technical Skills:Basic understanding of electronics, sensors, and calibrations.\nAbility to read and interpret wiring schematics, technical drawings, and calibration documentation.\nFamiliarity with diagnostic tools (multimeters, soldering tools, oscilloscopes) and calibration equipment.\nExperience with computer-controlled equipment; hands-on experience is a plus.\nBasic knowledge of MATLAB; proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is beneficial.\n\nAdditional Tools & Equipment:Experience with sensor calibration devices, data acquisition systems, and other relevant diagnostic instruments is beneficial.\nFamiliarity with wind tunnel testing and 7-post vehicle dynamics rig operations is a significant advantage.\n\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nPhysical Demands:Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs.\nCapability to stand or sit for extended periods during testing and troubleshooting activities.\n\nWork Environment & Schedule:Hands-on work in a lab environment focused on automotive performance.\nTypical working hours are Monday to Friday, with weekend work being rare.\nFlexible hours may be required, with shifts ranging from 6 am to 7 pm and occasional overtime.\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and within a team.\nAdaptability and a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges.\nWhy Join Penske Technology Group?\nAt PTG, we are committed to excellence in automotive performance testing and technological innovation.
