The Bindery Operator continues to learn upon assignment to set-up and operate the lines of associated equipment to become a more skillful and versatile operator. MSU Federal Credit Union may or may not be able to accommodate temporary or permanent changes to work arrangements or allow employment outside the city and/or state of residency in which the new hire resides at the time of offered employment. \nCompensation & Benefits -\nA highly competitive salary commensurate with experience\nWork environment that is climate-controlled, clean and orderly, and promotes safety\n100% Company-Paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability Premiums \nUp to 13 days of PTO within your first year, as well 6 Paid Holidays\n401(k) with company match\n6 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nOperate machines such as guillotine cutter and saddle stitcher\nAcquire the job folder and review it for the specifications or special instructions that may impact the operation or setting up of the machine or equipment\nFollow routine procedures in the setting up and in the operation of the machine or equipment\nReview the quality of the product continuously to meet the standard that is required\nMaintain the required records with quantities, quality, and any other required information\nCross-train and learn the lines of associate equipment\nAssist in the training of employees new to the specific lines\nMaintain both the bindery equipment and immediate area\nReport unusual conditions or circumstances to the supervisor or the person in charge\nWork on job assignments in other manufacturing areas as needed\nComply with all OSHA safety requirements\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. \nTrade School or Co-op experience in a related field highly preferred\n1-3 years of Bindery Operator experience preferred\nMechanical skillsMachine set up and operation, Saddle stitcher and folders\nSet up and fine tune of pocket to ensure minimal drops and stops during operation\nSet and monitor calipers to ensure quality of finished product\nChange and adjust trimmer knives\nInspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacement.\n\nCommunication skills\nUse of measuring devices\nRecord data\nGeneral computer usage to prepare delivery slips, carton labels and log into software for job costing and time tracking\nUse of manual and battery powered pallet jack\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nMay be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period.\nComfort performing tedious tasks - able to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.\nRequires ability to stand for extended periods, handle paper, reach forward, bend and lift boxes or cartons that can weigh up to 50 pounds.\nExposure to potentially hazardous conditions.
