This is a permanent, full-time position, based on 40 hours per week. Work hours will be from 9:00am until 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Further information respecting the position can be found below.\nPosition\nAs a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing and delivering innovative and highly specialized products and solutions on behalf of Forgeahead’s clients. Duties include the following:\nActing as technical lead for the Canadian team, which includes testing products, identifying bugs, and providing design and architectural solutions; \nEvaluating clients’ technical requirements and business needs to recommend the most appropriate Forgeahead solution;\nBuilding software architecture and systems using Forgeahead’s specialized processes and configurations;\nDetermining the most suitable design pattern and code architecture for each project, and translating designs to build high performance, reusable, and reliable code;\nWriting, modifying and integrating code; \nUtilizing Forgeahead’s specific processes and procedures to evaluate, test, and troubleshoot designs; \nEnsuring final products meet client requirements, and are in compliance with Forgeahead’s standards and best practices; \nMaintaining and updating software architecture and code in accordance with Forgeahead’s unique configurations and implementation processes; and\nMaintaining up-to-date, in-depth proprietary knowledge of Forgeahead’s specialized products and solutions to provide optimal client service.\nQualifications\nWe are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:\nSuccessful completion of a Bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.\nAt least 3 years of hands-on experience as a software engineering technical lead.\nProficient working with both relational database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MariaDB) and non-relational technologies (MongoDB and Redis).\nHands-on working experience with large highly scalable Cloud-native application development.\nProven experience in deployment and automation using Docker/Containerization, Jenkins, and Terraform\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Python, TypeScript, React/React Native, GraphQL, jQuery, NodeJS, Bootstrap, Angular and AngularJS.\nPrior experience working with ORM tools (i.e. Sequelize and Mongoose) and AI tools (i.e. AWS Kiro, Claude, and Cursor).\nAWS certification in AI and/or Architect courses is preferred.\nStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to communicate clearly and confidently about technical requirements.\nA positive attitude, willing to dive into what is needed for our mutual success.\nCompensation\nWe offer a generous compensation package, which includes:\nSalary: $130,000 per annum based on 40 hours of work per week \nVacation: 10 days of paid vacation per annum \nBenefits: extended medical, dental, vision, parental leave, RRSP contributions, and cell phone.\nOther: eligible for incremental salary increases in accordance with standard company policies \nApply\nIf you are interested in the position, and meet all of our qualifications, please send a copy of your cover letter and resume to .
