Working as part of a collaborative team, this role performs take-offs, estimate entries, and reviews bidding documents while following standardized estimating procedures. We are dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for complex civil, geotechnical, and environmental challenges, guided by our core values: We Do What We Say, We Are Passionate About Our Work, We Are One Team, We Work Smart, and We Do The Right Thing.\nKey Responsibilities\nCollaborate with capture teams to develop solutions and estimate resources for various projects.\nPrepare detailed cost estimates, proposal documents, and schedules.\nAssess project risks and communicate findings based on proposal documents.\nConduct quantity takeoffs and review drawings for potential concerns.\nIdentify competitive advantages and present ideas to the capture team.\nObtain multiple competitive quotes for materials and subcontracted services.\nMaintain a historical cost database and prepare critical-path schedules.\nAttend pre-bid meetings to assess project requirements and site conditions.\nOrganize bid files and ensure accuracy in calculations and documentation.\nBuild and maintain professional relationships with clients and partners.\nMeet deadlines and complete estimates with precision and attention to detail.\nPerform additional assignments as needed.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management\nTwo plus years of estimating experience in heavy-civil, geotechnical and/or environmental remediation fields.\nExperience estimating on >$500K projects\nScheduling software experience (Primavera/MS Project) is required.\nEstimating software experience (Bid2Win/B2W, HCSS, or similar) is required.\nQuantity takeoff software experience (Agtek/AutoCAD).\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience estimating on >$5 million projects\nExcellent computer skills include knowledge and experience with Primavera, Microsoft Project, Office, Outlook, and Excel.\nWorking knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.\nDirect experience advising project leadership on complex issues.\nPreferred Competencies\nScope & Complexity: Manage intricate tasks, re-prioritize and triage effectively, maintain a strong attention to detail in data collection, analysis and evaluation.\nProblem Solving & Risk Assessment: Independently evaluate risks and effectively resolve challenges, look around corners to anticipate risks and escalate to project teams when appropriate.\nAutonomy & Prioritization: Self-motivated, ability to work independently, versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.\nCollaboration & Feedback: Committed to integrity, communication, teamwork and proactive internal and external customer responsiveness.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nThis office and field hybrid role requires frequent computer use and effective communication.
