Behind every patient visit is a care team-physicians, advanced practice professionals, and Registered Dietitians-who chart, coordinate, schedule, and manage a longitudinal treatment plan across thousands of patients. The Care Delivery team owns the systems that make that work possible: clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, operational tooling, and workflow automation.\nWe're hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Care Delivery in building these business-critical clinical and operational systems. You'll combine strong people leadership with technical depth, guiding engineers who work on complex, safety-sensitive backend services, workflows, and integrations-shipping systems that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable, because the care team depends on them every hour of every day.\nWe're also an AI-native engineering org, and we expect this leader to operate as a manager of agents-fluent in agentic software delivery with tools like Claude Code as a core part of the workflow-alongside the fundamentals that make small teams fast and safe: small-batch continuous delivery, feature flags, strong CI, and tight feedback loops. Fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the US.\nWhat You Will Do\nTeam Leadership & Execution\nLead, coach, and grow a small team delivering business-critical clinical and operational systems\nEstablish clear goals and execution plans aligned with product and company priorities\nFoster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement\nProvide direct feedback, mentorship, and career development for engineers at multiple levels\nRaise the technical and delivery bar through pairing, code review, and hands-on coaching\nHire thoughtfully to strengthen team capability and long-term scalability\nTechnical Leadership\nGuide architectural decisions for backend services, workflows, integrations, and internal tools\nPartner with senior engineers to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable\nMaintain strong technical fluency across Ruby on Rails, Node.js, React/Next.js, and AWS-based infrastructure\nEnsure healthy CI/CD pipelines and safe deployment practices for a regulated healthcare environment\nChampion small-batch, continuous delivery-small PRs, short-lived branches, feature flags, tight feedback loops\nUse DORA metrics and other delivery signals to continuously raise the team's throughput and stability\nIdentify technical risks early and lead mitigation before they impact care delivery\nClinical Workflow & Intelligent Systems\nOversee systems supporting clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, and workflow automation\nEnsure systems handle patient data safely within HIPAA and broader healthcare regulatory requirements\nSupport thoughtful integration of automation and AI where appropriate, always prioritizing human oversight and patient safety\nCross-Functional Partnership\nPartner with product, clinical, and operations leaders to define roadmaps and translate evolving requirements into clear engineering plans\nProvide structure and clarity in ambiguous problem spaces\nBalance speed of delivery with operational reliability and long-term platform health\nAbout You\nYou're an experienced engineering leader who blends hands-on technical depth with strong people leadership. You bring:\n5+ years managing engineering teams, with prior experience as a senior or staff-level engineer\nA track record leading delivery of complex backend or workflow-heavy systems in production, in fast-moving or high-growth environments\nExperience instilling delivery fundamentals-small-batch delivery, feature flags, testing, operational excellence-and coaching teams to adopt them\nHands-on fluency with agentic, AI-native development (e.g., Claude Code)-you practice it yourself and can model and coach it into a team\nStrong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders\nA plus, not required: experience in healthcare, clinical systems, workflow tooling, AI-enabled products, or other regulated domains\nYour Impact\nYour leadership will directly shape how Form Health delivers care at scale.
