Engineering teams use it to track, route and reconcile funds without building their own ledger from scratch.\nWe are a team of about 30 people across New York and Europe. We went through Y Combinator (S21) and raised a $21M Series A led by PayPal Ventures in 2025.\nWhy join us\nHard, interesting problems. Our customers move money at scale. You will help their engineering teams design how funds flow through their systems, and see the inside of fintechs, payment companies and crypto platforms.\n\nReal impact on revenue. You will be one of a small group of Solutions Engineers in the US. Your demos and POCs will directly decide whether we win deals.\n\nRoom to shape the role. There is no fixed playbook. You will help define how we run discovery, demos and POCs, and build the tools the team uses.\n\nA global team. You will work closely with our engineering team in Europe, with regular trips to Paris.\n\nWhy this role exists\nOur buyers are engineers. CTOs and Staff Engineers decide whether Formance is credible, and they want to talk to someone who has built systems like theirs. Our US team is growing, and we need a Solutions Engineer who owns the technical side of every deal, from first discovery call to signature.\nWhat you will do\nPartner with our Account Executives on US deals.\n\nLead technical discovery with CTOs, engineering teams and finance stakeholders.\n\nBuild and run custom demos based on each prospect's flows of funds.\n\nScope and run POCs with clear success criteria and an end date.\n\nAnswer security questionnaires and architecture reviews.\n\nDesign the first version of the prospect's model: accounts, transactions and edge cases (refunds, reversals, disputes).\n\nBuild tools, templates and demo environments that make the team faster.\n\nYou will report to our Head of Revenue in New York and work closely with our CTO and our existing Solutions Engineers.\nWhat we are looking for\n3+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or Software Engineer.\n\nHands-on with APIs and data modeling, with solid knowledge of databases. You can write code and call an API yourself.\n\nExperience in fintech, payments, crypto or developer infrastructure.\n\nYou want to be in front of customers, and you chose pre-sales on purpose.\n\nYou explain complex systems simply, and you never overpromise.\n\nBased in New York and authorized to work in the US.\n\nNice to have\nPre-sales experience at a developer or fintech infrastructure company.\n\nExperience with ledgers, double-entry, reconciliation or accounting systems.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes or self-hosted infrastructure reviews.\n\nYou use AI to build, and you know what to check by hand.\n\nWhat to expect\nThis role is hands-on. There is no fixed playbook: you will shape how we run discovery, demos and POCs.
