We build the tools to help them answer those questions.\nYOUR ROLE\nWe’re looking for a Solutions Engineer with a strong technical foundation and experience in fintech or payments to join our team.\nYou’ll work with prospective customers to understand their architecture, map their financial flows, and demonstrate how Formance fits their requirements. You’ll partner closely with our sales, product, and engineering teams throughout the evaluation process.\nThis role combines technical depth with commercial judgment. You should be comfortable building a proof of concept, discussing architectural tradeoffs with an engineer, and explaining the business implications to a founder.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nLead technical discovery with engineering and product teams to understand their financial workflows, constraints, and evaluation criteria.\n\nBuild tailored demos and proofs of concept using Formance’s APIs and tooling.\n\nGuide technical evaluations, investigate questions, and help prospects assess product fit.\n\nPartner with sales to connect technical capabilities to business needs and move opportunities forward.\n\nBring customer feedback to product and engineering, with concrete examples of gaps and recurring needs.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nExperience in fintech, payments, banking infrastructure, or digital-asset infrastructure. You understand how money moves through a financial product and the operational challenges involved.\n\nA strong technical foundation. You can work with APIs, read and write code, debug integrations, and reason about data models and system architecture.\n\nExperience working directly with customers, through solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or an engineering role with significant customer exposure.\n\nThe ability to ask precise questions, uncover requirements, and explain complex concepts clearly.\n\nCommercial judgment: you understand how a technical evaluation contributes to a buying decision.\n\nA hands-on approach and the ability to work independently in a small team.\n\nStrong written and spoken English, with the ability to lead technical conversations with international customers.\n\nUseful additional experience\nWorking with ledgers, double-entry accounting, reconciliation, or payment orchestration.\n\nSupporting technical evaluations for API-first or developer-facing products.\n\nBuilding financial workflows involving multiple currencies, payment providers, or digital assets.\n\nTurning recurring customer questions into reusable demos, documentation, or tools.\n\nWHY JOIN FORMANCE?\nYou’ll work directly with teams building financial products and help them make consequential infrastructure decisions.\nYou’ll have ownership of technical evaluations, close access to product and engineering, and the opportunity to shape how we demonstrate and explain Formance.
