Whether it's improving products, supporting customers, or positively influencing peers and the community, the contributions of our people matter.\nShift:\nThe regular hours for this position are day shift.Job Description:\nThe Sr. Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the electrical design and development of advanced wafer probe card solutions based on customer specifications, product requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and established design-for-test (DFT) and design rules. This role applies electrical engineering principles and CAD tools to develop high-quality, manufacturable designs while supporting customer requirements, design schedules, and product performance objectives.\nThe engineer works collaboratively with customers and cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing Engineering, and global design organizations, to evaluate requirements, develop technical solutions, and support designs from feasibility through completion.\nKey Responsibilities:\nElectrical Design & Development\nDesign advanced wafer probe cards based on customer specifications, internal manufacturing design rules, DFT requirements, and product specifications.\nDevelop electrical circuits and probe card solutions that meet customer test and application requirements.\nPrepare probe card netlists and design data for probe heads, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and associated electrical components.\nPerform PCB design activities including parts placement, routing, transmission line analysis (TLA), design verification, and basic signal integrity considerations.\nGenerate and verify netlist-based design files for electrical circuits and probe card designs.\nApply knowledge of electrical circuits, product specifications, applications, and manufacturing design rules to develop custom probe card solutions.\nApply logical and systematic design practices to identify and prevent potential design defects.\nProject & Design Execution\nPlan and schedule assigned design activities to support customer and business requirements.\nMonitor design progress and manage assigned work to support on-time completion.\nBalance design quality, manufacturability, schedule, and cost requirements when developing engineering solutions.\nComplete assigned design activities in support of departmental and organizational goals.\nCustomer & Cross-Functional Support\nWork directly with customers to understand probe card requirements and develop electrical solutions that meet customer test needs.\nPartner with Sales, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to provide timely feasibility analyses in response to customer requests.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to understand manufacturing capabilities, constraints, and design requirements.\nWork with globally distributed engineering and design teams on product designs, feasibility analyses, knowledge sharing, and training activities.\nCommunicate technical information and design considerations effectively with both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.\nDesign Process & Continuous Improvement\nDefine, document, and improve electrical design processes, methods, and best practices.\nProvide feedback to internal CAD and design-tool development teams regarding tool functionality and usability.\nSupport verification and evaluation of new or updated internal design tools.\nIdentify opportunities to improve design quality, efficiency, consistency, and manufacturability.\nMaintain appropriate engineering documentation in accordance with established design processes and requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience:\nWorking knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuits, PCB design, and electronic components.\nAbility to interpret technical specifications and translate customer requirements into practical electrical designs.\nUnderstanding of schematic/netlist-driven design processes and design verification.\nFamiliarity with PCB layout concepts, including component placement, routing, and transmission line considerations.\nGeneral knowledge of signal integrity concepts and their application to electrical design.\nAbility to troubleshoot design issues using a logical, systematic approach.\nAbility to manage multiple design activities and priorities while meeting established schedules.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to design accuracy and quality.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.\nAbility to learn and apply new engineering tools, design methodologies, and product technologies.\nSkills:\nAnalog Circuits Design, Autodesk AutoCAD, Decision Making, Detail-Oriented, Effective Presentations, Microsoft Office, PCB Layout Design, PCB Troubleshooting, Positive Communication, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design, Project Management, Scripting Languages, Self Motivation, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Signal Integrity, Wafer ProbingEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience | RequiredPay Range:\n$90,500.00 - $118,755.00Pay Range Explained:\nThis role in Livermore, California pays between $90,500.00 and $118,755.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations.
