We are experiencing record-breaking growth within our ministry, and we plan to expand over the next several years.\nThe Part-time Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day transactional and administrative financial operations of K2L. This position oversees the accurate and timely processing of contributions, deposits, accounts payable, payroll, banking transactions, and financial records. The Part-time Accountant works closely with the Executive Director and Fractional CFO to ensure accurate accounting, strong financial controls, and efficient financial operations.\nKey responsibilities of the Part-time Accountant include but are not limited to:\nContributions & Revenue Processing\nProcess and record check, cash, credit card, and online contributions and prepare bank deposits\nMonitor online giving platforms and resolve unsettled or rejected transactions as needed\nMaintain accurate donor and contribution records and prepare annual giving statements\nAccounts Payable & Disbursements\nReceive and process invoices and vendor payments\nManage credit card transactions, receipts, expense coding, and supporting documentation\nPrepare required banking and positive pay files\nMaintain accurate vendor records and communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and discrepancies\nPayroll & Employee Finance Administration\nProcess biweekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including seasonal staff and interns\nAssist with annual W-2 and 1099 reporting and other payroll-related administration\nAccounting & Recordkeeping\nMaintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks and other applicable systems\nEnter and categorize transactions, maintain supporting documentation, and post routine journal entries\nMaintain organized financial files and fixed asset records\nProvide transaction-level information and documentation needed by the Fractional CFO\nBanking & Cash Operations\nMonitor day-to-day banking activity and review positive pay items for accuracy and authorization\nPrepare and submit required banking files and deposits\nEscalate unusual or questionable banking activity to the Executive Director and Fractional CFO\nProvide timely and accurate information to support cash management and financial oversight\nCompliance & Administrative Finance\nMaintain required vendor, insurance, licensing, and financial documentation\nAssist with workers’ compensation audits, PCI compliance, merchant services, and other routine compliance requests\nCommunicate and document finance policies and procedures as directed\nCFO & Executive Leadership Support\nProvide timely financial information and supporting documentation for monthly close and financial reporting\nSupport the Fractional CFO with the monthly board package, annual audit, Form 990, and other external reporting\nAssist with special projects, financial process improvements, fundraising events, and other projects as requested\nHR Support\nMonitor new-hire paperwork, drug testing and background checks; report new hires through e-verify and to the state; set up new employees in payroll\n\nUnquestioning and wholehearted alignment with the K2L Statement of Faith\nProven experience in bookkeeping for a church, nonprofit, or small business\nA high level of integrity, honesty, and discretion in processing the resources of K2L\nStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to work independently, managing daily financial operations and deadlines\nExperience with accounting software such as Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Ministry Platform is ideal\nKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures\nA college degree and/or relevant certifications are preferred\nA basic understanding of business best practices, including HR and business administration\nBaseline 20-hour work week, Monday to Thursday, with some additional hours needed during busy seasons.
