Track Management is a Danish-founded rope access specialist for the offshore and onshore maintenance and repair of wind turbine blades. It includes IRATA and GWO certified technicians and blade repair specialists and hires blade engineers and accountants. The company is headquartered in Southern Denmark.

Blade Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Blade Engineer to join an ambitious and fast-growing company within the repair and maintenance of wind turbine blades.

Do you have a deep technical understanding of wind turbine blades - their construction, materials and structural properties - and would you like to use that knowledge in a role where colleagues and customers turn to you when a repair needs to be done properly?

Do you know how a blade is built, from laminates, core materials, spar caps and shear webs to bonded joints, leading edge protection and lightning protection systems (LPS)? And do you understand what happens to the structure when the blade is damaged, and what is required to restore it?

Then this may be the role for you.

About the company

The company is a Danish-founded rope access specialist focused on offshore and onshore maintenance and repair of wind turbine blades.

The company provides specialised service solutions internationally and is experiencing strong growth. The organisation includes IRATA- and GWO-certified technicians as well as specialists in blade repair and blade upgrades.

The company is headquartered in Southern Denmark and works on projects both within and outside the EU. The culture is entrepreneurial, with short decision-making processes, a fast pace and a strong focus on quality, employee wellbeing and long-term development.

As Blade Engineer, you will play a central role in the company’s technical organisation and international blade repair projects.

You will be the technical specialist responsible for assessing damage, recommending repair solutions and ensuring that technicians have clear and correct instructions to work from.

The role is primarily technical advisory. You will be the technical resource assessing damage, recommending repair solutions and ensuring that technicians have clear and correct instructions to work from.

For special tasks and advanced repairs, where complexity is high and close technical supervision is required, you will also take on a more project-oriented and hands-on role. You will plan and coordinate the work and, when necessary, participate on site to ensure that the repair is carried out correctly.

Your main responsibilities

  • Technical assessment of damage and its impact on blade structural integrity
  • Advising on repair methods, materials and technical solutions, including composites, LEP and LPS
  • Preparing and maintaining work instructions, repair procedures and technical standards
  • Providing technical support and sparring to blade technicians, both from the office and on site
  • Handling technical clarifications with customers, including specifications and OEM requirements
  • Preparing and reviewing technical scopes of work
  • Quality assurance of technical documentation and repair reports
  • Planning, coordinating and providing hands-on technical leadership for special tasks and advanced repairs
  • Providing technical input for tenders and cost estimates
  • Contributing to the development of repair kits, tools and working methods
  • Developing and delivering training workshops and competence-development activities, both theoretical and practical, together with the Head of Blades & QC
  • Capturing experience and lessons learned and translating them into improved instructions and procedures

The role may develop further over time depending on your skills and ambitions.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a technical education as an engineer, marine engineer or equivalent technical background, combined with deep specialist knowledge of wind turbine blades.

We imagine that you:

  • Have in-depth knowledge of blade construction, including laminates, spar caps, shear webs, core materials and bonded joints
  • Have a strong understanding of composite materials such as glass fibre, carbon fibre, resin systems and adhesives
  • Have detailed knowledge of LPS systems, leading edge protection and other blade components
  • Understand loads, structural mechanics and the physics behind blade behaviour and damage mechanisms
  • Have experience preparing work instructions, procedures and technical documentation
  • Can communicate technical solutions clearly and precisely to technicians, project managers and customers
  • Work in a structured, thorough and quality-conscious manner
  • Are motivated by taking the lead on special and complex repair tasks, including on site when required
  • Have strong written and spoken English skills

Experience in blade repair, blade inspection, blade manufacturing, blade design or QA/QC is a clear advantage, as is familiarity with OEM specifications and repair manuals.

Personal qualities

You are technically strong, thorough and curious, and you enjoy getting to the heart of complex technical challenges. and the opportunity to influence how technical work is structured and developed.

You naturally take ownership and you thrive in an entrepreneurial organisation with short decision-making processes.

Perhaps you are already the specialist your colleagues turn to when damage needs to be assessed or a challenging repair solution needs to be found and you are now looking for a role where your expertise has a direct impact on the quality of repairs carried out in the field.

We offer

  • A central technical role in an international growth company
  • The opportunity to see your technical knowledge translated directly into repairs in the field
  • Significant influence on the company’s repair methods, work instructions and technical standards
  • A varied role combining technical advisory work with hands-on leadership of advanced repairs
  • Short decision-making processes and direct access to management
  • Considerable freedom and a high degree of responsibility
  • An international working environment and exciting projects
  • A competitive compensation package including pension and bonus based on qualifications and experience
  • Strong opportunities for professional and personal development
