Joining us is an opportunity to work towards saving vision across the globe, collaborating with others to realize a dream, and tackle an enormous challenge that will help drive your career forward.\nWho we are looking for\nWe are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of an advanced robotic platform for ophthalmic surgery.\nThe role involves designing, developing, and testing precision mechanisms and test systems as part of a complex, multidisciplinary medical device.\nYou will collaborate closely with engineers across multiple disciplines and take ownership throughout the development lifecycle-from initial concept and detailed design through prototyping, integration, testing, and transfer to production\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop mechanisms, assemblies, and test rigs throughout the product development lifecycle-from concept generation and detailed design through prototyping, integration, verification, and transfer to production.\nDesign mechanical solutions incorporating motors, sensors, bearings, gears, and other precision components.\nDevelop and execute mechanical tests and experiments to evaluate design performance and verify engineering requirements.\nPrepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, test protocols, reports, and engineering change documentation.\nCollaborate closely with systems, software, electronics, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to develop multidisciplinary solutions.\nSupport hands-on prototype assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing.\nIdentify mechanical design challenges and develop practical, data-driven solutions.\nContribute to design reviews and the continuous improvement of products and development processes.\nRequirements\nB.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.\nAt least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.\nDemonstrated experience designing complex mechanisms, assemblies, or electromechanical systems.\nExperience designing multidisciplinary systems - an advantage.\nExperience with mechanisms incorporating motors, sensors, bearing systems, gears, and/or precision components - an advantage.\nExperience designing test rigs, fixtures, or experimental setups - an advantage.\nStrong proficiency in SolidWorks, including assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.\nFamiliarity with PLM systems and ECO/ECN processes - an advantage.\nFamiliarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles -
