You'll work across the software stack-from applications and runtimes down to the operating system and hardware layers-while collaborating with a team of engineers pushing the boundaries of data protection.\nThis role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technologies that protect data in use, at rest, and in transit, while contributing to products used by organizations around the world to secure their most critical workloads.\nLocation\nWe strongly prefer candidates who are within commuting distance of our Eindhoven, Netherlands office and are excited to work in a hybrid environment. For exceptional candidates with deep domain expertise in confidential computing, systems security, or low-level software engineering, remote work may be considered.\nWhat you’ll do (Duties and Responsibilities):\nDevelop tools and SDKs for confidential computing platforms. \nSupport other teams within Fortanix to use tools related to confidential computing platforms developed internally \nDesign, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions that meet security and performance standards. \nInvestigate and resolve complex issues spanning application, runtime, kernel, and platform layers. \nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in security and confidential computing. \nConduct code reviews, ensure best practices in software development, and maintain high standards of code quality. \nDrive the adoption of new tools, methodologies, and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality. \nWhat you’ll need (Basic Qualifications)\nA passion for systems programming and low-level software development, particularly in x86-based environments. \nStrong software engineering fundamentals and an appreciation for modern programming languages and abstractions, particularly Rust. \nSolid understanding of Linux kernel and operating system fundamentals. \nA desire to work within a small, highly collaborative team and help grow its technical expertise and impact. \nAt least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with C/C++ or Rust \nBachelor or Master in Computer Science, Information Security or related field \nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts. \nPreferred Technical And Professional Expertise\nExperience with trusted execution environments or confidential computing technologies. \nKnowledge of rust compiler, virtualization, or cloud infrastructure. \nFamiliarity with low-level security concepts, attack mitigations, and secure systems design, along with a desire to deepen expertise in these areas. \nKnowledge of software development tools and methodologies, including CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps. \nContributions to open-source projects. \nBenefits\nWe offer a competitive salary and equity package \n40 hours of Volunteer Time Off/year\nThe opportunity to redefine cloud computing in a friendly, collaborative work environment. \nFortanix is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace with equal opportunity for all applicants and teammates.
