This individual contributor role focuses on coordinating recruiting activities, ensuring a smooth, efficient process for candidates and hiring teams, and providing critical operational support to our Technical Recruiters and People team.\nYou will manage interview logistics, candidate communication, and recruiting operations, and help maintain an exceptional candidate experience in a fast-paced startup environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate and schedule interviews across multiple time zones and stakeholders (candidates, hiring managers, interviewers, executives)\nServe as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the interview process, ensuring timely and clear communication\nManage and update candidate records and requisitions in the applicant tracking system (e.g., Greenhouse)\nSupport job posting and maintenance across company website, job boards, and other channels\nPrepare interview materials, scorecards, and agendas for hiring managers and interviewers\nPartner with Technical Recruiters and hiring managers on interview planning, logistics, and day-of coordination\nHelp facilitate on-site interviews, including candidate greetings, room setup, and day-of logistics\nCoordinate background checks, reference checks, and other pre-employment steps as needed\nAssist with offer letter preparation and collection of required documentation\nTrack and report on recruiting metrics (e.g., pipeline status, time-to-interview, scheduling volume)\nContribute to process improvements for scheduling, communication templates, and candidate experience\nSupport onboarding logistics in partnership with the People team (e.g., first-day schedules, coordination with IT and facilities)\nRepresent Fortastra professionally in all candidate and external partner interactions\nRequired Qualifications and Skills\n1-3 years of experience in a recruiting coordination, HR coordination, or similar operations-focused role\nExperience supporting recruiting processes in fast-paced environments (startup or high-growth company preferred)\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent schedules, tasks, and priorities\nExceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through\nClear and professional written and verbal communication skills\nComfort interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and executives\nExperience using an applicant tracking system (Greenhouse or similar strongly preferred)\nProficiency with productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office)\nCollaborative mindset with a service-oriented approach to supporting recruiters and hiring teams\nAbility to operate effectively in a high-accountability, fast-changing startup environment\nCommitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and high-quality candidate experience\nRequirements\n5 days on-site in Torrance, CA\nU.S. citizenship or U.S. Person required\nThis is a high-trust, high-impact role within a fast-paced, mission-driven organization\nWhy Fortastra\nWe are a small, high-impact team building the next generation of autonomous orbital control systems for national security space.
