This role interfaces with foreign entities and third-party service providers and supports local operations, quarterly and annual financial reporting, local compliance requirements, and external audits. You will collaborate with cross-functional and international accounting teams, prepare schedules and analyses, and support initiatives that improve standardization, automation, and close efficiency.\nResponsibilities\nSupervise the monthly general ledger close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports and analyses.\n\nPrepare quarterly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review.\n\nCoordinate, review, and approve designated internal financial reports and deliverables.\n\nRemain current on new accounting guidance and work with the technical accounting team to implement new accounting pronouncements and transactions impacting the financial statements, ensuring compliance with Fortinet policies and procedures.\n\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams on projects and unusual transactions; obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve accounting issues.\n\nManage and oversee local accounting service providers to ensure compliance with Fortinet policies and statutory requirements, and review the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting support and deliverables.\n\nWork closely with international accounting teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.\n\nCoordinate with outsourced compliance officers to monitor local regulatory requirements and ensure accurate and timely government filings and compliance reporting.\n\nParticipate in financial transformation initiatives, implement process improvements, and establish best practices to improve standardization and accelerate close timing.\n\nDevelop and enhance accounting processes and controls to support accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting.\n\nLead automation initiatives involving accounting systems and applications related to accounting operations and reporting processes.\n\nDrive and manage projects focused on standardization, process improvement, and accelerated close timelines.\n\nAssist with ad hoc projects and management inquiries.\n\nEssential Functions\nReview and post journal entries and manage monthly close activities.\n\nReview Staff Accountant work for accuracy and completeness.\n\nReview monthly account reconciliations across a variety of accounting areas.\n\nMaintain supporting documentation required to substantiate accounting data.\n\nMaintain general ledger accounts to meet business and financial reporting requirements.\n\nPrepare schedules supporting cash flow reporting and SEC disclosures.\n\nPerform flux analysis at both the U.S. and consolidation levels.\n\nQualifications & Competencies\nHands-on experience in international accounting.\n\nStrong technical accounting expertise and knowledge of U.S. GAAP.\n\nStrong general ledger accounting skills.\n\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.\n\nOracle experience highly preferred.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.\n\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\n\nFlexible and comfortable working in an environment of continuous change, with a willingness to take on new challenges.\n\nHigh degree of dedication to continuous improvement and a strong sense of ownership.\n\nCPA and Big 4 accounting experience highly valued.\n\nPrevious public technology company experience highly valued.\n\nBilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship\n\nFortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.\nWage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $118,000 - $180,000.
