We are looking for a QA Engineer to join the FortiGate Chassis platform team and help validate high-end firewall systems designed for high throughput, scalability, resiliency, and availability.\nThe role focuses on distributed state synchronization, session-aware traffic distribution, system resiliency, performance, scalability, and automation. Our ideal candidate has strong networking and Linux fundamentals, good troubleshooting and scripting skills, and enjoys working with complex systems and new technologies.\nJob Duties\nDesign, execute, and automate functional, system, performance, scalability, and reliability testing for FortiGate Chassis platforms.\nValidate synchronization and consistency of configuration, FIB/FDB, sessions, and other runtime states across chassis components.\nValidate packet forwarding and session-aware load balancing/distribution under high-throughput and large-scale traffic conditions.\nTest system resiliency, state recovery, and service continuity during module failure, restart, failover, upgrade, and other system transitions.\nTroubleshoot complex system and data-plane issues using packet captures, logs, counters, and system diagnostic tools.\nDevelop and maintain test automation and tools using Python and Bash.\nWork closely with Development and QA teams to understand new features, identify defects, and improve test coverage.\nDesign and maintain test environments and identify required networking and test equipment.\nJob Experience Required\n3+ years of experience in networking, system testing, software QA, or a related engineering role.\nStrong understanding of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3/4 packet forwarding, VLAN, LAG/LACP, ARP/ND, NAT, and HA.\nGood understanding of stateful networking, forwarding tables, MAC/FDB tables, sessions, and traffic distribution.\nStrong hands-on Linux and system troubleshooting skills.\nGood Python and Bash scripting/automation skills.\nExperience with packet analysis and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.\nFamiliarity with virtual machines and container technologies.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with high-performance firewalls, routers, switches, or chassis-based networking platforms.\nExperience with distributed networking systems, state synchronization, HA/failover, or system recovery.\nExperience with traffic generators, performance/load testing, and large-scale network testing.\nHands-on experience with virtualization and container technologies such as KVM, VMware, Docker, or LXC.\nNetworking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Fortinet NSE are a plus.\nEducational Requirement\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$176,000.
