Most importantly, you are eager to learn, grow, and continuously improve, contributing to the ongoing innovation and excellence of FortiGate products.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, implement, and maintain software components that support our TCP/IP stack and SD-WAN feature set.\nStay current with emerging technologies, application-layer protocols, and software development best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.\nPromote and uphold high standards of software design, coding quality, and maintainability.\nIdentify opportunities for product enhancements through hands-on experience with Fortinet products.\nResearch and explore emerging technologies to enhance existing and future AI-based SD-WAN routing algorithms.\nEvaluate and refine existing software designs and implementations to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.\nRequirements:\nProficiency in C/C++ programming and software development.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments.\nSolid understanding of Operating System, TCP/IP networking, POSIX APIs, and socket programming.\nFamiliarity with version control systems such as Git.\nAbility to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.\nAssets:\nUnderstanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts, particularly RIP/OSPF/BGP protocols and their implementation.\nFamiliarity with machine learning (ML) and deep learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, and AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face.\nKnowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Small Language Models (SLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, model inference, and resource-efficient AI deployment in Linux or embedded environments.\nBasic knowledge of Linux/UNIX system administration and server management.\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is considered an asset.\nThe Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $94,000- $115,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.
