Experience with technology companies or the computer networking industry is a plus. Candidates with backgrounds at premier law firms or in-house patent litigation teams are especially encouraged to apply.\nJob duties:\nIn concert with Fortinet's Vice President of Litigation and Compliance and executive team, oversee the company’s global litigation portfolio. That portfolio consists mostly of US-based patent litigation, along with employment, securities, general business, and other kinds of litigation around the world.\nProvide strategic guidance to outside counsel.\nSupport outside counsel in coordinating discovery, including implementing litigation holds, working with witnesses, and gathering evidence.\nManage internal responses to subpoenas, statutory records requests, etc.\nDirectly negotiate resolution of pre-litigation and early stage litigation disputes independently or with minimal oversight.\nDevelop processes and playbooks for a maturing litigation department.\nControl outside legal spend.\nHandle small matters independently, and work on larger matters collaboratively.\nAssist with occasional internal investigations, including but not limited to pre-dispute matters and corporate compliance matters.\nAdditional job duties based on experience and ability.\nA Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school.\nAdmission to applicable state bar.\nExtensive patent litigation experience preferred; a willingness to learn is a minimum.\nA technical background or demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex technologies is highly valued.\nFlexible for the right fit.\nEducation and experience required:\nA Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school.\nAdmission to applicable state bar.\nExtensive patent litigation experience preferred; a willingness to learn is a minimum.\nA technical background or demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex technologies is highly valued.\nFlexible for the right fit.\nFortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.\nWage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level.
