You will engage in both client-side (agent) and server-side (cloud/on-prem console) verification. Join a high-energy team that is creating innovative security products, and take ownership of quality assurance across critical areas of the FortiEndpoint ecosystem.\nJob Responsibilities:\nExecute test cases using both manual and automated testing techniques to ensure agent stability, telemetry accuracy, and detection efficacy.\nDesign, develop, and maintain software systems and automation frameworks to enhance product test coverage.\nDevelop and maintain test automation infrastructure and manage the multi-OS virtualized QA lab environment (Windows, Linux, macOS).\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues within our cloud management backend and endpoint communication pipelines, implementing proactive solutions to prevent regressions.\nCreate, maintain, and monitor internal service performance metrics, including agent resource utilization (CPU, memory, and disk footprint).\nCollaborate with software development, release QA, and system operations teams to improve products and services.\nWork closely with R&D and technical support teams to track, troubleshoot, and resolve complex edge-case bugs (e.g., driver conflicts, agent crashes, telemetry gaps) using internal tracking systems.\nParticipate in escalated customer calls or field telemetry analysis for real-time troubleshooting as needed.\nRequired Qualifications & Job Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.\nMinimum of four years of professional experience in a technical QA or software engineering role (ideally within security, enterprise software, or low-level systems).\nStrong understanding of client-server architecture and secure web communications (HTTPS, TLS/SSL, WebSockets) governing communication between endpoint agents and the management cloud.\nIn-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, VPN) to troubleshoot agent connectivity and data payload delivery.\nOver three years of hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and system internals (e.g., registry, file systems, process management, and system logs), as well as virtualization/sandbox technologies.\nStrong familiarity with Endpoint Security concepts (EDR, XDR, Next-Gen AV, or host-based firewalls) and basic understanding of malware behaviors or attack techniques (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK framework).\nStrong familiarity with QA processes, methodologies, bug-lifecycle management, and software development fundamentals.\nProven ability to troubleshoot system and network issues using tools like Process Monitor, Windows Event Viewer, Wireshark, system logs, and crash dump analyzers.\nProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell for test automation and log analysis.\nExperience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and basic security testing/simulation is highly desirable.\nThe Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $85,000 - $115,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.
