Specific eligibility and coverage details will be provided during the hiring process**\nJob Summary:\n **Contract (W-2), approximately 3 months, with potential to extend or convert to a full-time position**\nFortis Fire & Safety is looking for an experienced Contract Talent Sourcer to build strong candidate pipelines across our brands and branch locations, with a focus on skilled trades and field service roles. You'll develop sourcing strategies, engage passive and active candidates, conduct initial screening, and deliver qualified talent to our recruiters and hiring managers.\nThis is a full-time, on-site position based in our Schaumburg, IL office. Work is primarily performed at a computer in a standard office setting.\nImportant Notes for This Position:\nAs a temporary contract position, this role is not eligible for the medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, or other company benefits referenced in the standard compensation language below. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nDevelop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill and recurring roles, including market mapping and competitor talent research\nSource candidates through job boards, professional networks, trade associations, referrals, and direct outreach\nBuild and maintain talent pipelines for roles such as fire sprinkler fitters, fire alarm technicians, inspectors, and service personnel\nWrite and send personalized outreach messages to engage passive candidates\nConduct initial phone screens to confirm interest, availability, and qualifications\nEvaluate candidate certifications, licenses, and field experience against role requirements before handing off to recruiters\nAdvise recruiters and hiring managers on talent availability, market conditions, and realistic candidate profiles\nMaintain accurate candidate records and sourcing activity in the applicant tracking system\nTrack and report on sourcing metrics such as response rates and candidates submitted\nFollow company policy and applicable employment laws throughout sourcing and screening\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience\n3+ years of sourcing or full-cycle recruiting experience, with a proven track record of filling hard-to-find technical or skilled trades roles\nStrong candidate search and research skills, including advanced search techniques (such as Boolean search) across LinkedIn, job boards, and niche or trade-specific sourcing channels\nDemonstrated ability to engage passive candidates and deliver strong response and conversion rates\nExperience supporting high-volume or multi-location hiring across several hiring managers at once\nAbility to work independently with minimal ramp-up time\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in fire protection, life safety, or a related trade (such as sprinkler, fire alarm, suppression, electrical, low-voltage, or mechanical), either working in the field or recruiting for those roles\nWorking knowledge of fire protection credentials and career paths, including NICET certifications, state fire marshal licensing, and union and merit-shop apprenticeship programs\nThis pay range reflects the compensation rate Fortis Fire & Safety reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting.
