Let’s rethink energy together.\nAs our Project Engineer, you’ll focus on preparing engineering assessments, feasibility studies, completing detailed design and field engineering activities for Capital Sustainment projects in the company. You’ll coordinate a team of engineers, technologists and external consultants on a wide variety of projects, including gas transmission and intermediate pressure pipeline projects.\nIn year 1, you will:\nMaintain compliance with current industry regulations, codes, standards and guidelines.\nBuild a solid understanding of FortisBC’s internal processes, standards, policies and procedures.\nApply your expertise and knowledge to projects.\nDevelop strong working relationships within the Engineering team and key stakeholders.\nIn year 2, you will:\nDevelop leadership skills within the department and help improve the performance of the team.\nIdentify and champion continuous improvements in the service provided to other key stakeholders.\nBe accountable and improve the performance and timelines of the fast pace work environment for ongoing projects.\nWhat it takes:\nExcellent communication and organizational skills.\nDemonstrated technical capabilities and successful experience as an Engineer of Record on pipeline projects and assessments.\nDemonstrated Professional engineering capacity in natural gas pipelines design and field work.\nDemonstrated knowledge of design standards such as CSA Z662 and ASME B31.\nAdvanced knowledge of computer systems and specialized software.\nOur engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse.
