This role will work closely with the software development team to ensure the quality and reliability of ASP software products. This position reports to the Manager of Software Engineering (ASP IDC).\nResponsibilities\nUnder limited supervision, general direction, etc. and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:\nDesigns, implements, debugs, and executes system and software level test protocols including automated scripts.\nDevelop software test tools for verification and validation of medical systems.\nDesign, recommend, and implement new tests to improve product robustness and quality.\nAnalyze system and embedded software-level product requirements to develop most effective test strategies.\nCreates product release documentation, including verification and validation plans and test reports for new software releases.\nProvides support to cross functional teams to provide analysis of challenging field issues.\nBuild and implement a V&V test process that is compatible with our Agile scrum sprints.\nInterface among multiple departments and teams including Quality and Service etc.\nIdentify and recommend opportunities for efficiency improvements in department processes.\nConduct static analysis, code coverage analysis, and other verification techniques to ensure high-quality software.\nResponsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level. \nPerforms other duties assigned as needed.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science or other relevant technical experience is required. \n3 to 10+ years of experience in embedded and system-level software testing\nExperience in Software Verification and Validation methodologies with expertise in writing testcases, test plans and test reports\nProficiency in Python or other scripting languages\nExperience in RTOS/Linux is a preferred.\nExperience with software development tools, such as IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems\nExperience with communication protocols, network protocols and tools such as Wireshark\nExperience with automated testing frameworks, such as Squish, Robot Framework, Cucumber, or Selenium\nExperience with oscilloscopes, analyzers and electronics is preferred. \nKnowledge of defect management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla is required.\nPrior work in a regulated environment like medical device industry is preferred.\nFamiliarity to Agile methodology is preferred.\nHas good verbal and written communication skills.\nFortive Corporation Overview\nFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
