You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify and address potential issues early in the software development lifecycle. You will be expected to write automated tests using Python and the Robot Framework, contribute to test processes, and manage end-to-end testing to ensure our software products deliver the best user experience.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTest Planning & Strategy:Develop comprehensive test plans and test strategies for software applications based on requirements and specifications.\nDefine test cases, test data, and create a clear roadmap for testing activities.\n\nAutomated Testing:Write, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python and Robot Framework.\nDesign and develop reusable and scalable automated tests for both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security).\nIntegrate automated tests with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.\n\nEnd-to-End Testing:Lead and perform end-to-end testing for the entire software product, ensuring that all parts of the system work together as expected.\nConduct regression testing, smoke testing, and functional testing across multiple environments.\nIdentify, reproduce, and document defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.\n\nTest Execution & Reporting:Execute both manual and automated test cases across various platforms (web, desktop, etc.).\nTrack, report, and prioritize defects and issues found during testing, ensuring proper communication with relevant teams.\nEnsure thorough test coverage by validating the full functionality of the product, including edge cases.\n\nContinuous Improvement:Collaborate with development teams to improve the testing process, quality practices, and automation strategies.\nParticipate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to continuously improve testing workflows.\n\nCollaboration & Communication:Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, review user stories, and ensure proper test coverage.\nProvide detailed feedback and suggestions to the development team to enhance the quality of the product.\n\nRequirements:\n\nEducational Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).\n\nRelevant Experience:3-7 years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer or equivalent.\n\nTechnical Skills:Proficient in Python programming for test automation and scripting.\nStrong hands-on experience with Robot Framework for automated testing.\nSolid understanding of Test Process and Test Lifecycle (requirement analysis, test planning, test execution, defect management, etc.).\nExperience with end-to-end testing of software applications, ensuring full coverage of all functionality.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating tests into automated pipelines.\nKnowledge of version control systems like Git and experience with branching and merging strategies.\n\nTesting Experience:Strong background in manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, and system testing).\nExperience in automated testing, with a deep understanding of test frameworks and tools.\nFamiliar with test case design, test execution, and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).\nExposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.\n\nSoft Skills:Excellent communication and collaboration skills.\nStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.\n\nNice to Have:Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nExperience with medical device/biomedical device is a plus.\nExposure to agile methodologies and familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.\n\nFortive Corporation Overview\nFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
