This position reports into the Mechanical Commodity Manager.\nYou will be responsible for executing commodity strategies to improve cost, productivity, quality, and innovation capabilities within the global supply base. As part of this, you will analyze and manage the company’sglobal commodity spend, assess market conditions, identify opportunities to create value for the company, and align business needs for quality, cost, delivery, and growth.\nResponsibilities & Deliverables\nDevelop and sustain high-efficiency, high-quality domestic and/or global sources of supply for materials and services. \nExecute commodity strategies and provide detailed reports, analysis, and sourcing or business-related presentations to staff and management. \nAssist in managing the global supply base through development of supplier scorecards and business reviews. \nSource a wide range of materials to strengthen the global supply base and support commodity strategies. \nDevelop RFQs to competitively bid, evaluate, and select potential suppliers. \nManage commodity spend using procurement processes & systems. Focus on price, quality, delivery, innovation, supply chain efficiency & working capital. \nNegotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts. \nUse data analytics, industry benchmarking, and strategic sourcing methodologies to build a robust pipeline of PPV/VAVE cost savings initiatives. \nStay current on new processes, techniques and supplier capabilities using continuous improvement tools. \nLead projects with a cross-functional team and supplier, to successfully implement a commodity strategy, cost savings initiative or transition a source of supply. \nCollaborate with Fortive Category Managers to ensure best practices and greatest leverage in procurement, low-cost region sourcing, supplier assessment & management. \nExecute outsourcing and dual-sourcing initiatives within commodity space. \nMust be able to travel up to 10-20% to find, develop, and manage domestic and/or global sources of supply. \nOrganizational Alignment\nThis role reports directly to the Mechanical Commodity Manager, and works very closely with the Supply Chain, Supplier Quality & Engineering teams, Regional Service Centers, and Asia Pacific Operations.\nSkills & Work Traits\nAbility to navigate through ambiguity and change; excel in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance. \nSolid business judgment, including the ability to anticipate the impact of decisions. \nAbility to consult, advise and influence cross-functionally within the organization. \nHighly analytical, with a clear, logical understanding of problem-solving including Root Cause, Corrective Action, Counter Measures, Problem Solving Process, and Action Plan development and execution. \nStrong financial acumen and ability to develop financial business cases for strategic decision making. \nCapacity to be a change agent, demonstrating persistence and resilience when faced with challenges. \nExcellent negotiation and conflict management abilities. \nTechnical Competencies\nWorking knowledge, proficiency, and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment. \nProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. \nExperience with Oracle EBS a plus. \nExperience\n3+ years’ experience in a global operation and leading continuous improvement initiatives. \nExperience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Data Analytics within a manufacturing environment. \nKnowledge of finance and accounting characteristics of supply chain. \nEducation\nUniversity Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field. \nASCM or APICS certification as CSCP, CPIM, CLTD a plus. \nISM certification as CPSM a plus. \nFortive Corporation Overview\nFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
