This role will work closely with architects and the verification and validation team to ensure the quality and reliability of ASP software products. This position reports to the Director of Software and Connectivity (ASP IDC).\nResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, general direction, etc. and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:\nDesign, develop, and implement software for our products and systems.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new software features.\nInterface with hardware design and development teams.\nConduct performance analysis and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.\nCoordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.\nDebug and resolve software defects and issues.\nReview code and design and provide constructive feedback to team members.\nLead and mentor junior engineers to promote knowledge growth and ensure project deliverables. Interface among multiple departments and teams including Quality and Service etc.\nIdentify and recommend opportunities for efficiency improvements in department processes.\nConduct static analysis, code coverage analysis, and other verification techniques to ensure high-quality software.\nResponsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level. \nPerforms other duties assigned as needed.\nRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science or other relevant technical experience is required. \n8 + years of experience in system-level software development\n8+ years of working experience in C/C++\nProficiency in Python or other scripting languages\nExtensive knowledge of real-time operating systems and hardware.\nExperience in Yocto Linux is a preferred.\nExperience with software development tools, such as IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems\nStrong understanding of software systems, software architectures, and design principles.\nFamiliarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review techniques.\nExperience with oscilloscopes, analyzers and electronics is preferred. \nKnowledge of defect management tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla is required.\nPrior work in a regulated environment like medical device industry is preferred.\nFamiliarity to Agile methodology is preferred.\nHas good verbal and written communication skills.\nFortive Corporation Overview\nFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
