Our Approach.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain high-quality distributed applications within the FORTNA Warehouse Execution System (WES) platform.\nParticipate in the architecture, design, implementation, and delivery of scalable warehouse automation and execution solutions.\nCollaborate with Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Services teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions.\nProvide remote support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for both new WES solutions and legacy WCS systems.\nContribute to system reliability, performance optimization, scalability, observability, and operational excellence.\nDevelop and maintain RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, microservices, and enterprise application components.\nAssist QA and Infrastructure teams in test automation, deployment validation, packaging, and release activities.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards, and technical documentation.\nSupport project customization efforts and assist implementation teams during customer deployments.\nTravel occasionally to customer sites to support solution qualification, testing, and go-live activities when required.\nContinuously learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development tools.\nShare technical knowledge with team members and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\nStrong experience with Java (Java 17 or later preferred) and concurrent/distributed application development.\nStrong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), software design patterns, and clean coding principles.\nExperience developing enterprise applications using modern Java frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Quarkus, Play Framework, Micronaut, or similar), including RESTful APIs and distributed systems.\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.\nExperience with messaging technologies, event-driven architectures, or message brokers (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, etc.).\nExperience with Git and modern build tools such as Maven or Gradle.\nExperience working with Docker and containerized applications.\nFamiliarity with Linux-based development and deployment environments.\nStrong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.\nGood written and verbal English communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in Agile/Scrum development environments.\nStrong collaboration skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.\nExperience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, OpenSearch, Splunk, or Datadog.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.\nExperience with warehouse automation, warehouse execution systems (WES), warehouse control systems (WCS), logistics, supply chain, or industrial automation domains.\nExperience working with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar developer productivity tools.\nExperience participating in technical design discussions, mentoring junior engineers, and driving engineering
