The ideal candidate is a team-oriented problem solver with a strong desire for excellence and a passion for continuous improvement.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nDesign and implement new features and functionality. \nDiagnose and fix complex product defects within a project or supporting customers. \nActively participate in all Agile ceremonies \nThe ability and self-discipline to use self-training tools\nBe able to start writing less complex technical specifications based on conceptual \ndesign and stated business requirements. \nPerform testing of features and defect fixes performed by other developers. \nFollow and help refine our development best practices and standards. \nHelp identify, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines. \nComply with standards, version controls, and product release procedures. \nWork with technical writers to ensure product documentation on new features \nand changes are properly documented. \nWork under minimal supervision on various projects \nAssist or mentor other less experienced team members. \nOther duties as assigned. \n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nAn experienced UNIX / Linux developer with skills in network and system programming.\nQualified in Computer Science to degree level.\nSkilled in advanced problem solving and feature development.\nGood at working in a project framework and handling most system development roles.\nExcellent written and spoken English.\nExcellent abilities in the C programming language and system development in a UNIX / Linux environment.\nHas worked with Perl, Ruby and other scripting languages.\nExperience of kanban, scrum and other agile development methods.\nWilling to use AI programming tools such as Codex, Copilot.\nExperience of web services, RBAC systems and / or database\nAt Fortra, we’re breaking the attack chain.
